      Head of Healthcare Promotion

      Angel Court, London (Hybrid)

      Salary £65k - £75k depending on experience.

      Permanent

Location for the role is based at Angel Court, London, with flexible working arrangements available. The role may require occasional travel, including overnight or international.

      The role

Bupa cares for millions of customers, patients and residents in its businesses around the world. Our healthcare expertise spans a vast array of clinical disciplines and geographic borders. The Group Clinical team is a global function of Bupa Group, sitting in Bupa’s London head office. The team is led by Bupa’s Chief Medical Officer and works to support and promote the work of the thousands of clinicians and customer-facing teams working across the company’s health insurance and healthcare provision businesses (digital primary care, hospitals, dental clinics, clinics, care homes). The role reports to the Director of Healthcare Strategy and Promotion.

The Head of Healthcare Promotion role is an exciting opportunity to develop and amplify the profile of Bupa’s healthcare expertise internally and externally with the clinical community, support the creation of strategic communications campaigns and promote Bupa and its healthcare professionals as global leaders and experts in our sector.

This is a key role focusing on clinical publications and healthcare press, delivering high-impact external and internal campaigns in partnership with our External and Internal Communications teams. Event management and delivery are also crucial aspects of this role.

      What you’ll do

      • Drive internal and external promotion of Bupa’s global healthcare activity and expertise through the development of a clinical communication strategy, including but not limited to conferences, panels, speeches, events, social media activity, and traditional media opportunities, in partnership with External Communications.
      • Proactively find and deliver opportunities for Group Clinical to communicate with external clinical audiences. This could include: securing media opportunities in health publications with international audiences; writing content (including speeches, talking points, presentations, blogs); assessing invitations and other requests; and then preparing Group Clinical speakers for the opportunity.
      • Shape and lead a strategic internal communications programme to ensure the strategic landing, and maximum engagement and impact of Group Clinical activities to drive action across Market Units.
      • Promote the work of Bupa’s clinical community – its experience and expertise, advances, achievements and care for customers, patients and residents internally and externally.
      • Play a significant role in the planning and delivery of Bupa’s Healthcare Symposium – a major conference bringing together experts from across the sector to discuss and debate the future of healthcare and showcase Bupa’s experience in a variety of different global healthcare markets.
      • Work in partnership with colleagues in External and Internal Communications locally and globally on a collaboratively designed communications agenda.
      • Create slick, professional multimedia assets using video editing / graphic design software such as Canva and Adobe Premier Pro from a variety of sources, at pace.
      • Act as a source of trusted communications counsel to Group Clinical and the Chief Medical Officer whilst sourcing and amplifying key clinical information, opinion, and messages.
      • Maintain the continuous accuracy of Bupa’s clinical narrative, proof points and case studies to demonstrate our progress and deciding the most engaging ways to engage with external audiences. Managing subject matter experts to ensure timely and accurate presentation of information.

      What you’ll bring

      • Recognised and demonstrable excellence in internal and external communications, content creation/copy writing and event production and management.
      • Skilled in creating high quality, engaging communications for a wide range of audiences across multiple channels including print, online and broadcast media, social and digital content.
      • Expert in Adobe Premier Pro, or equivalent, for video-editing, and graphic design experience.
      • Strong writing and story-telling skills and the ability to think creatively across a variety of mediums.
      • Excellent organisational skills, with a strong ability to coordinate major, multi-layered projects.
      • Proven track record of working across functions and, ideally, across international businesses.
      • Experience in the healthcare sector as well as working in global, complex, matrix organisations highly advantageous.
      • Great stakeholder management skills up to the most senior level, accomplished in building trusted relationships across a complex, matrix business and in delivering projects to a desired conclusion
      • Great managerial skills, with experience in delegation and supporting teams to work towards major project delivery.
      • Proven ability to work under pressure, meet changing and competing deadlines and manage multiple stakeholders.
      • Ability to understand healthcare information, including data, and to distil this into clear and concise communications materials and compelling stories tailored to different audiences.
      • Proven ability to understand complex healthcare communication issues and recognise business-wide implications. An in-depth understanding of the external healthcare environment is necessary.
      • High standard of written and spoken English with proven copy writing experience.
      • Clear passion for healthcare and promoting the work of those who deliver it.
