      Job Description

      The Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for identifying and implementing improvements to quality processes through use of statistical tools, project management practices, and continuous improvement methodologies. This role is also key to driving reductions in cost of quality and enhancing quality outcomes to achieve strategic business objectives.

      RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Lead complex, high value projects that deliver measurable and sustainable business results, leveraging a Six Sigma process improvement methodology
      • Serve as a technical leader in the deployment of the Six Sigma process improvement methodology through the application of process improvement tools and training, coaching, and mentoring of associates
      • Drive ideation, prioritization, and implementation of process improvement opportunities to improve efficiencies and maintain the highest quality products and services, partnering with key stakeholders to scope and ensure alignment with strategic priorities
      • Analyze new and existing data sources in conjunction with a working knowledge of various materials, manufacturing techniques, and engineering practices to identify and drive significant cost improvements at manufacturing plants and distribution centers.
      • Manage projects and lead teams comprised of cross-functional associates (such as Product Managers, Engineering, Sales, Operations) to develop recommendations to improve quality outcomes and business value, and drive implementation of corrective actions.
      • Serve as an operational expert in statistical analysis and provides analytical support to the overall Enterprise
      • Mentors and supports other Quality Engineers as well as develops, documents, and provides training as required
      • Demonstrates continual improvement efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly with facility teams and leadership.
      • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

      Qualifications

      • Six Sigma Black Belt certified through an accredited institution or internal program as part of a large organization
      • Minimum of 8 years of engineering is required
      • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field, MBA or advanced degree preferred
      • Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills for dealing with all levels of staff, customers, suppliers, and operations
      • Experience applying analytics to drive results and increase value (preferably in Quality)
      • Solid project management skills with a results orientation
      • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
      • Availability to travel as needed to manufacturing plants and distribution facilities

      Additional Information

      Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $81,000 USD - $126,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
