What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and oversee research proposals and manage contract and grant records
- Prepare complex proposal budgets and support documents in compliance with guidelines
- Guide less experienced staff and provide counsel on research administration matters
- Coordinate proposal submissions and ensure adherence to compliance regulations
- Participate in special projects supporting principal investigators' budget preparations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Thorough understanding of research administration guidelines for Federal and non-Federal sponsors
- Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training
- 4-6 years of recent contract and grant pre-award management and budget preparation experience
- Strong writing skills and ability to draft persuasive text for diverse audiences
- Ability to perform complex financial analysis and maintain strong organizational skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar research awards
- Proficiency in UC Campus financial systems, such as KR, KFS, and UCPath
- Knowledge of University of California Policies and Procedures related to finance and grants
- Familiarity with compliance requirements regarding human or animal subjects in research
