      Summary:
      This role is responsible for the support of communications projects, event coordination, systems and processes, and departmental administration and planning.

      Major Duties/Responsibilities:
      • Communications Support, Planning & Execution: Support managers in the creation and/or execution of external and internal editorial content, engagement, and change communications strategies and plans. Coordinates project plans and logistics for engagement activities and events e.g. media/public events, employee events. Maintains and orders department equipment and supplies. Assists managers in publishing agendas and scheduling of team and cross-functional meetings. Utilizes systems for budget and financial tracking – establishes purchase requisitions, orders and processes invoices. Creates financial and other reporting for Department Operations as requested.
      • Content Development: Support managers in the creation of written, verbal, and/or visual communications.
      • Content Management: Support managers in the management of content for delivery across all internal and external communication channels including social media, websites, intranet and press releases. Organizes and maintains electronic and paper files, ensuring accurate record-keeping and easy retrieval for the Communications Department. Monitors inbound communications (e.g. phones, mailboxes, sites) and coordinates responses.

      Stakeholder Management:
      Support managers in the alignment of stakeholders around communications initiatives, content approvals, evaluate communication effectiveness and consultation on communications best practices and tools.

      Training:
      Support managers in the training of stakeholders around communications practices and tools, brand guidelines, media outreach, and crisis/responsive communications.


      Additional Competencies:

      • Strong organizational skills with the Ability to prioritize, multi-task. Handles volumes of information and works under strict timelines.
      • Strong verbal and written skills
      • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
      • Attention to details, resourceful, responsible and strong work ethic
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic office equipment.
      • Acts with conviction, seeks new ideas, and suggests alternatives
      • Excellent collaboration, influence, negotiation and inter-personal skills
      • Ability to think creatively/conceptually, and effectively interact with individuals at various levels within the company
      • A team player with a can-do attitude, willingness to learn, and with ability to work independently

      Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
      Education: Bachelor’s Degree
      Experience: 1-2 years of relevant work experience and an interest in learning organizational communications.
