- Provide legal advice and support on a broad range of issues, including contract negotiation and management, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, employment law, and corporate governance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including supplier, customer, and vendor contracts.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and address potential legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures to promote legal compliance and best practices.
- Manage and coordinate with external legal counsel as needed.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant legal developments affecting the manufacturing industry.
- Support the legal department in handling disputes, litigation, and other legal proceedings.
- Assist General Counsel with Intellectual Property Portfolio management and act as liaison between outside counsel and internal business units for intellectual property matters.
- Developing and conducting training to business units on relevant legal issues affecting their functional areas.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by General Counsel.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree (with strong academic credentials) from an ABA-accredited law school required.
- Ten or more years of broad-based legal experience in commercial legal matters at a law firm or in-house legal department. Relevant experience areas include negotiating commercial agreements, supply chain matters, products liability, product regulatory compliance for manufacturers, international trade compliance, developing and managing intellectual property portfolio strategies, and supporting corporate ESG and compliance programs.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to provide practical legal solutions.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
- Member in good standing of Missouri Bar (or of another State bar and eligible for transfer to Missouri by aUBE).
- Strong interest in commercial transactions and contracting process.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Business acumen and ability to balance legal advice with business objectives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
- Strong follow through and follow-up.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
