      Summary of Job Duties:

      The Data Analyst works under the direction of the Rural Telehealth Evaluation Center (RTEC) Director and Deputy Director and functions as a member of RTEC team for synthesizing and evaluating information gleaned from in-depth analysis for the purpose of program evaluation, research, fulfilling contractual agreements from extramurally-funded awards, and planning or developing specific service programs and initiatives as assigned.


      Qualifications:

      Bachelor’s Degree in science, health, statistics, research, business, public health, or a related field

      PLUS Five (5) years of experience in research and/or evaluation data analysis required

      OR

      Master’s Degree in science, health, statistics, research, business, public health, or a related field

      PLUS Three (3) years of experience in research and/or evaluation data analysis required

      Experience with program evaluation such as process evaluation, outcome evaluation, implementation research, and/or continuous quality improvement.

      Knowledge of qualitative and survey methodologies, such as conducting focus groups and interviews and designing and implementing surveys.

      Experience with qualitative analysis software such as MaxQDA or NVivo.

      Experience with survey software such as Qualtrics or REDCap.


      Additional Information:

      • Assists Director and performs data pulls and data analysis as requested. Serves as a subject matter expert with regard to elements needed to meet quality reporting measures and metrics.
      • Designs and implements formal quality assurance processes to assure data accuracy and develops action plans for any data quality issues. In collaboration with the Director, develop cross-training and cross-coverage to ensure timely data collection in times of absences or increased volumes.
      • Conducts ongoing data analysis and evaluation to identify performance gaps, trends, special cause variation, and potential causal factors. Utilizes visual graphical tools and data displays to provide interpretation ease and meaningful conclusions and employs more advanced statistical tools and analysis, when appropriate.
      • Maintains data in an external or internally built database and ensures all data is entered accurately and according to specifications. Supervises the development of any additional internal database including the composition of, and adherence to, the associated specification documents.
      • Serves as the unit's team lead in the collection and compilation of quality data for assigned registry, database, or indicator set.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.
