Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:
This is an exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced individual with the immigration NZ Performance and Reporting team. You will become a key part of a large and supportive team within the Chief Operating Office branch.
As a Senior Data Analyst you will support Immigration branches and the leadership team by providing in-depth and complex data to help inform decision making across the Immigration system.
The role will be varied and will be ideal for someone who is wishing to further develop themselves both professionally and personally - plenty of support will be provided to help you achieve this.
• Chief Operating Office branch is accountable for ensuring that Immigration New Zealand’s (INZ) operational activity is effectively prioritised, coordinated, clearly tasked, and aligned to INZ strategy.
• You will apply sound data analysis techniques, including complex statistical and pattern analysis, to generate insights, investigate priority business issues and develop solutions.
• You will provide knowledge management and lead insights projects and taskings, providing direction and support to other team members involved.
• You will need to demonstrate a structured and pragmatic approach to analysis, including working with stakeholders to interpret and validate results.

Skills and Experience Required
We are keen to hear from you if you:
• Have a tertiary qualification in a numerate subject or comparable relevant experience (minimum 3-5 years’ experience)
• Have highly advanced skills in database and analytical tools such, as but not limited to, Power BI, MS Excel and R.
• 2 years minimum experience is SAS EG and SAS Anayltics is preferred but not essential.
• Experienced in analysing business information needs and the ability to translate these into business information requirements
• Can comfortably translate complex and technical information into information easily understood by non-technical staff
• Demonstrate initiative, sound judgement, accuracy and a sense of urgency when responding to requests
• Performance Management Framework (PMF) reporting and analysis experience preferrable
