Job Description

- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of data across all Breaking Ground operations
- Coordinate data retrieval, organization of data, and analysis for internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with creation of and execut e training for staff on how to read and interpret data dashboards and visualizations
- Support the design and presentation of impact metrics
- Creates and maintains documentation and methodology records for analysis performed
- P arse reporting requirements for grant funded initiatives and produces content for reporting
- Develop tools to help conduct data quality and performance monitoring
- Provides support to the Director
- Effectively collaborate with internal partners on share d code responsibilities and accountability
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience retrieving, cleaning, and analyzing data
- Proficient in R, Python, or SQL
- Familiar with B usiness Intelligence Tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc. ) or data app frameworks (Shiny, Observable, etc. )
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong c ommunication skills ; able to effectively communicate data to a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Able to set prioriti es; adept at responding to changing requirements, priorities, and deadlines
- Strong project management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams

Breaking Ground operates nearly 4,000 units of housing across New York City, along with housing in upstate New York and Connecticut. Supportive housing - affordable housing paired with services designed to help people maintain their homes for the long-term - is widely recognized as a proven and cost-effective solution to chronic homelessness.
But we didn't stop at providing housing. Breaking Ground's programs and services help people experiencing street homelessness - especially those who have been on the streets the longest - to come indoors. Through our Street to Home outreach program and transitional housing resources, we help people get, and stay, on the path to a permanent home.
The Government Contract Compliance and Data Strategy department is responsible for ensuring the agency’s compliance with government contracts, and overseeing Breaking Ground’s data collection and analytics, and quality assurance efforts. This department plays an integral role in Breaking Ground’s overall mission by ensuring that our work is data informed, high quality, and meets contract and regulatory compliance standards.
Reporting to the Director, Data Analytics, the Senior Data Analyst define s metrics for data analysis and respond to data requests across the organization for internal and external stakeholders. Beyond basic reporting, th e Senior Data Analyst use s programmatic data to analyze outcomes and interventions, supporting Breaking Ground in making more data-driven and evidenced -based decision making .
