      The Role

      The position is based at the Prince of Wales Hospital within the Performance Management Information Unit, which provides health analytics and business support to the Prince of Wales Hospital, Community Health Service and Sydney and Sydney Eye Hospitals.

      • The role is to provide data diagnostics, performance reporting and high level analytical advice to support
      • Performance improvement across the organisation, including:
      • Patient Access and Flow
      • Patient Safety and Quality
      • Activity Based Funding
      • Casemix Costing
      • Workforce & Resources
      • Service redesign, planning and innovation

      Where you'll be working


      Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.

      Selection Criteria

      1. Excellent understanding of hospital business and performance, its drivers, and extensive experience with the related data and information support required.
      2. Experience in developing performance reporting systems and competent in deploying software tools to engage clinicians to access and use the data.
      3. Experience in data analytical techniques to diagnose and report on performance problems and evaluate redesign and improvement.
      4. Experience in written analytical narrative, statistical reporting and data presentation with a proven ability to interpret complex information rapidly and accurately.
      5. Experience in training other staff in data and technical analytical skills to meet relevant competencies.
      6. Highly developed interpersonal skills relevant to working in a small team in an executive environment.
      7. Self-directed and accountable in managing a high workload, adapting to changing demands, and delivering to strict deadlines.
      8. Relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive data, information management and technology experience, especially using eMR/iPM, MS Access, Excel, SQL
