- Work closely with, and support, the PMD Programmatic Monitoring and Use team Specialists to respond to user needs leveraging a range of different data sources and analytical tools and techniques. Key users include GMD, TAP, Access to Funding, Strategy and Policy Hub, External Relations and Communications Division, and Risk, as well as key decision-making forums.
- Provide quantitative analysis, leveraging modelling and statistical competencies to monitor and generate analytical insight on programmatic performance and emerging risks and issues. This will also include developing and maintaining relevant data models and databases.
- Work closely with colleagues from other Departments, including Finance and Supply Operations, to generate cross-cutting analysis. This involves developing an understanding of different data sets, including those owned by other teams, and their interdependencies.
- Generate high quality reports and presentations to feed into routine programmatic monitoring business processes and decision-making platforms, internally within the Secretariat, and to support in-country discussions and decision-making. Internal business processes and platforms include: the Portfolio Performance Committee, the C19RM Investment Committee and the Management Executive Committee.
- Support the design and continuous improvement of key data visualization tools, , working closely with users and other data owners to gather business requirements and feedback.
- Provide ad hoc analysis as needed, at the request of business users or in response to an identified need, leveraging a broad range of data sources, both quantitative and qualitative.
- Provide support to different user groups to promote uptake and use of different programmatic monitoring tools and analysis.
- Work closely with other PMRD teams and the wider organization to help strengthen data quality through identification and feedback on data quality issues.
- University degree within the area of Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Epidemiology, Information Systems, Public Health, Statistics, or any other relevant field.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Epidemiology, Information Systems, Public Health, Statistics, or any other relevant field.
- Certification in Tableau for business intelligence or Power BI
- Relevant work experience within a health, development, consultancy setting, or a similarly analytical role in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with data manipulation, analysis, visualization, and presentation using R or Python , with excellent quantitative and analytical skills; robust experience producing analysis from complex datasets; experience in modelling.
- 3-6 years of relevant work experience within a health, development, consultancy setting, or a similarly analytical role in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience and robust knowledge of the Global Fund’s funding model, in addition to its processes and tools
- Experience working in developing countries, particularly in the health sector.
- An excellent knowledge of English. A working knowledge of French is helpful but not necessary. Knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
- Advanced skills in data manipulation, analysis and presentation in MS Excel

Senior Data Analyst, Programmatic Monitoring - GL C - Defined Duration until December 2025 The Programmatic Monitoring Department (PMD) has been established to support and strengthen in-country and internal data infrastructure, collection, processing, and analytics with the ultimate goal of strengthening data-use for decision-making and driving better programmatic outcomes. PMD operates as a service provider for the wider organization, responding to the different analytical needs of teams, providing both routine and ad hoc programmatic data visualization, reports, analytics, and insight. Key customers for PMD include Grant Management Division (GMD), Technical Advice and Partnerships (TAP), Strategy and Policy Hub, Access to Funding and Risk.
The Senior Data Analyst reports to the Specialist, Data Analytics and Use, and is part of a team of analysts responsible for providing cross-cutting analytical support to drive strengthened programmatic monitoring.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Specialist, Data Analytics and Use, and the Manager, Programmatic Monitoring and Data Use, the Senior Data Analyst will work with colleagues from across PMD and the wider organization to deliver high quality programmatic data visualization, reports and analysis.
The Senior Data Analyst must be capable of working with diverse sets of stakeholders and using technical and problem-solving skills to translate user needs into analytical outputs including quantitative and qualitative analysis and presentations, and the design, maintenance and continuous improvement of data visualization and analytical tools.Key Responsibilities
