      Position Overview:
      SDOT’s Street Use division is looking to hire a Senior Data Analyst (under the City classification of Senior Management Systems Analyst). This Senior Data Analyst is a member of the GIS and Data team and leads the Street Use division reporting and data analysis through the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of queries, dashboards, visualizations, data pipelines, and reports. Additionally, the position supports division efforts on data maintenance, data quality assurance, and business process support related to our enterprise permitting system, Accela. This position works collaboratively with others on the Data and GIS team, as well as Seattle IT Department to plan for and implement items on the team’s workplan and support division staff in achieving their mission and goals. This position reports to the Data & GIS Supervisor.
      • Write queries in SQL (MS SQL Server and Oracle SQL) to support Street Use division business processes.
      • Maintain and improve existing Tableau dashboards and their underlying data, which support critical business functions.
      • Develop, implement, and manage queries, reports, visualizations, tools, and data pipelines.
      • Understand and apply current datasets used by the Street Use division.
      • Analyze query results for completeness and quality.
      • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in Microsoft Power BI.
      • Propose, create, select, enhance, and support tools that support division data and workflows.
      • Design, maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot Street Use division data pipelines, which include stored procedures, Python scripts, and SQL views.
      • Collaborate with Seattle IT groups as needed to accomplish tasks.
      • Collaborate with others, including end users, on identifying and developing better tools, queries, reports, systems, applications, and devices to meet program objectives.
      • Support the Data and GIS team in completing items on its work plan including performance management, implementing new reporting tools, and data quality assurance.
      • Provide general technical support to division staff on business systems, applications, and hardware.
      • Use positive communication techniques as defined in the City of Seattle Workplace Expectations.
      • Support department goals in promoting diversity and social justice.
      Minimum Qualifications:
      • Requires three (3) years of experience in systems, operations, procedures, research or analysis and a Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, finance, computer science or a related field (or a combination of education, training or experience that provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).

      Successful candidates will possess many of these additional qualifications or be able to demonstrate comparable experience and expertise:
      • Write and troubleshoot SQL.
      • Advanced skill level in Tableau.
      • Advanced skill level in MS Power BI.
      • Experience with Python programming.
      • Experience with Accela permitting software.
      • Advanced skill level in MS SharePoint.
      • Experience with ArcGIS and or geo-spatial data.
      • Effectively work in a multi-cultural workplace with a diverse customer base.

      The full salary range for this position is $52.20 - $60.83 per hour.
