- Works across the business, operations and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision for complex solutions and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements into a technology backlog to enable the technology roadmap and functionality to support evolving capabilities and services
- Contributes to the creation of the architecture roadmap of defined domains (Business, Application, Data, and Technology) in support of the product roadmap and the development of best practices including standardized templates
- Clarifies the architecture, assists with system design to support implementation, and provides solution options to resolve any architectural impediments
- Facilitates solution driven discussions, leads the design of complex architectures, and finds creative solutions through knowledge of domain, practical experiments, and proof of concepts while ensuring architecture is flexible, modular, and adaptable
- Educates team members on the technology practices, standardization strategies, and best practices to create innovative solutions
- Supports the team as needed to select the technology stack required for solutions and helps select preferred technology products
- Performs design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements are sufficiently met (for example, security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability)
- Support overall goals and facilitate sharing and reuse where appropriate, aligning to Enterprise Data Management policy and Data Domain strategies owned by GRM and CFO DSMEs
- Support the use of ‘traditional technologies’ and cater to the needs of emerging advanced analytics, machine learning and AI capabilities where appropriate to the business need
- Drives the creation of guidelines for and help support consistent implementation for the way these capabilities access, secure, persist and capture data where appropriate
- Partners with technology stakeholders and DSMEs to drive the agreement of the strategy and resolves or escalates areas of divergence from the strategy
- Acts as an advisor to teams executing programs driving significant new or transformational data capabilities
- Collaborates with Data Management Technology and across ERFT/GT to drive the consistent implementation of data quality management requirements provided by GRM and CFO to ensure consistent, accurate and accessible data across the organization
- Monitors data metrics to ensure that data strategy drives improvements in alignment, enables efficiency and delivers business outcomes
- Offers feedback in the development of metrics to ensure that they are aligned to our desired strategic outcomes
- Documents and supports strategy – understands internal/external landscape; creates buy-in for vision; identifies gaps in strategy and drives creative solutions to close; transforms the business
- Communicates and influences impactfully – is clear, simple and straightforward; adapts to audience
- Navigates organizational complexity – understands how and through whom things get done; develops relationships; collaborates
- Understands the Bank’s Risk Framework – manages risks and creates a strong risk management culture

- 10+ years’ of relevant experience working with data, software development, and/or big data platforms
- Bachelors' Degree in computer science or industry related field
- Proven track record for leading and implementing large scale technical data solutions that utilize, i.e. - Hadoop, Apache Spark, Starburst, Oracle

This job is responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution that supports the strategic outcomes of the Business' Products and Services. Key responsibilities include defining the target operating environment, designing for client resiliency, assisting with solution design, and defining non-functional requirements. Position Summary:
The Enterprise Risk & Finance Technology (ERFT) Senior Data Architect is responsible for developing and maintaining a technology strategy that supports the data strategies of the Global Risk Management (GRM) and Chief Financial Office (CFO) organizations of the company including ERFT data warehouses, data sourcing into and data provisioning from ERFT data warehouses and associated data-warehouse specific tooling. The role will act as the first point of contact for the Data Strategy & Management Executives (DSME) of the GRM and CFO organizations for data architecture. Partners with Technology Delivery leadership and teams to document an agreed upon approach/taxonomy/strategy. This role is an individual contributor position.
