  SUMMARY

  
  

  We are seeking an enthusiastic BI Architect to join our team Your central responsibility as the data architect will be to develop, optimize, and oversee our conceptual and logical data systems. You will also define architecture requirements and create viable specifications of the processes and systems. Your duties may include preparing architect reports, monitoring the system, and supervising system migrations.

  To succeed in this role, you should know how to examine new data system requirements and implement migration models. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in data analysis and management, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  
  

  WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Responsible for the solution architecture for data warehouse and BI systems.
  • Responsible of defining solution for different platforms (Teradata, Snowflake, ETL, Cloud infrastructure or Kubernetes). Architectures that reduce IT complexity through cost efficient solutions.
  • Responsible of the architecture implementation working closely with project IT teams through the complete project lifecycle: from inception to design, testing, technology selection and deployment.
  • Apply standard methodologies when creating new architecture, programs, and applications or when maintaining existing ones
  • Document work using the required standards, methods, and tools
  • Responsible of communicating the solution architecture to the project/ program stakeholders and guiding the IT project teams during architecture implementation.
  • Ensure that governance processes, including architecture and security touchpoints are followed.
  • Ensure that all project deliverables align with the specified architecture, author the solution architecture statement and system requirement statement. Responsible of the review and approval of the detailed design, testing and deployment architecture documentation.
  • Responsible to the Head of Enterprise Architecture for cross-domain solution architectures and alignment to the DHL Express IT target architecture.
  • Feedback to Enterprise Architecture with best practices and implementation constraints of the IT standards or proposed solution architecture.

  
  

  WHAT ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Datawarehouse data model design and architecture.
  • Build working relationships with business representatives and IT representatives to gain sufficient understanding of the business needs and variance to allow a clear definition and optimization if required of a solution architecture.
  • Identify and document all aspects/views of the solution.
  • Review project documentation to ensure compliance with the solution architecture. Ensure that the designs are consistent with the overall DHL Express IT target architecture.
  • Responsible to the domain Architects for the implementation of the domain architecture and standards.
  • Responsible to the project/program manager for the specification of a solution architecture that satisfy the business requirements implementable within the constraints of budget and timelines.
  • Working relationship with other members of the architecture teams to seek alignment and to leverage opportunities across DHL Express.
  • Identify redundancies in the domain IT landscape view and propose to the Enterprise Architecture simplification strategies.
  • Responsible of the realization of the IT solution architecture of projects.
  • Contribute to the development and realization of the DHL Express target architecture.
  • Provide impact analysis on potential changes to the solution architecture on changes and solutions in the business requirement or IT solution.
  • Propose changes to the domain target architecture to the domain Architects.
  • Participate in Enterprise Architecture team meetings as required
  • Act as coach for less senior Architects

  
  

  WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • Minimum 8 years of multi-disciplined IT experience including:
  • At least 3 years of architecture responsibilities in large, sophisticated organization with high volume/high BI environment.
  • Expertise in Snowflake or similar Cloud data solutions, including BI data modeling.
  • Experience in Snowflake features on governance, performance optimizations, security, data sharing and best practices.
  • Experience / knowledge in data orchestration and ETL/ELT tools (DataStage / Matillion) and visualization tool like Power BI / Tableau.
  • Well versed and experienced in data modeling, experience in implementation of data warehouse, Big Data and business intelligence solutions on Cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
  • Development experience in a team that has provided world-class results, specification and configuration of systems, interfaces, including data and performance analysis across large multi-national organizations.
  • Gathers information needed for analysis; analyzes and defines functional and technical requirements; prepares architectural requirements documentation.
  • Suggest and propose ways of implementation of solution on architecture perspective i.e., well thought of and future proof solution. Able to prioritize and juggle between tasks and projects.
  • A strategic thinker with the imagination and foresight to conceptualize new technological solutions and products that address the core business objectives
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and results-oriented

  • In depth technical background with solid accomplishments in delivering solutions with reduced complexity
  • Superior communication skills with technical and non-technical senior management.
  • Ability to overcome the complexities involved in changing processes and implementing new technologies, and the resulting impact on people and the organization.
  • Advanced University Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent education.
  • Architecture certifications from information systems professional body preferred.
