      Orbis has partnered with one of the largest health insurance companies in Germany to find an experienced Data Engineer/AWS SME to join their IT division as they expand their AWS platform across the business.

      Role Summary

      As a Senior Data Engineer and AWS SME you will play a committed and fundamental role in the development of a new cloud platform.

      Your responsibilities will include:
      • Designing and implementing the AWS infrastructure for AI use cases.
      • Designing viable architectures using: AWS Glue, Athena, Sagemaker, EKS, EC2, S3, Stepfunctions.
      • Assisting in the deployment of ML services and ensuring performant inference for ML models.
      • Being responsible for their cloud infrastructure in terms of scaling, data flows, operational stability (IaC, CI/CD) and continuously developing it further using an agile methodology.
      • Taking an active role in the project team and using your expertise to transfer knowledge.
      • Ensuring automated processes - from their development to their operation.
      • Helping to build the foundations for the company's journey into becoming a data-driven company!

      Essential Requirements for this Role:
      • Fluency in German (C1 or above).
      • Extensive experience as a Data Engineer.
      • Experience with DevOps, including working in a Scrum and agile methodologies.
      • Experience working with the AWS tech stack including AWS Flue, Athena, Sagemaker, EK, EC2, S3 and Stepfunctions.
      • Experience in the development, operation and monitoring of productive processes using CI/CD technologies, especially in the automation of processes.
      • Knowledge of implementing data mesh architectures.
      • Strong communication skills.

      Nice to have:
      • An IT-related undergraduate degree or above, or alternatively and IT education with several years of professional experience in data engineering.
      • Experience with Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence.
      • Knowledge of streaming technologies such as Kafka.
