Design and deploy data governance frameworks, policies, standards and controls, ensuring organisation wide adoption.
Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve data governance challenges.
Work closely with project teams to ensure data governance controls are implemented.
Develop and implement metadata solutions to ensure robust data definitions and data lineage documentation are available in a central metadata repository.
Deliver training and guidance to diverse teams on data governance policies and procedures.
Perform data audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies.
Contribute to enhancement of data management, governance and data modelling processes, including data lineage and data quality.
Collaborate with stakeholders from business teams including architects, BAs, Data & Analytics, Legal & Compliance to get specialist advice and implement solutions.
Manage change management activities related to data governance initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
5-7 years of proven experience in data governance, data management, or similar roles
Familiarity with Agile and other project management methods
Hands-on experience with data governance tools (Collibra preferred, experience with Informatica or similar tools considered).
Proficiency in data management, product and work management tools (Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow)
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Strong proactive and collaborative skills.
Cloud certification(highly desirable)
Experience with diverse data technologies (cloud, on-prem, structured/unstructured data, streaming/reposed data)
Master’s Degree (preferred)

What you’ll do
As a Senior Data Governance Specialist you will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance policies, procedures, and frameworks to ensure effective data management across the organisation. This role requires close collaboration with project teams to integrate data governance controls into solution design, along with strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills to engage diverse business and technology stakeholders. Expertise in data-related regulatory requirements, Responsible AI implementation, and data management tools is desired.
