The Senior Data Science Advisor is responsible for solving key business problems using data science techniques. They evangelize the use of data science across the organization and own the development of internal tools and end-to-end machine learning solutions. They establish and improve data science standard processes and track the adoption of implemented solutions to demonstrate their value.

Responsibilities:

• Solve key business problems using advanced data science techniques

• Promote and advocate for the use of data science across the organization

• Lead the development of internal tools and end-to-end machine learning solutions

• Establish and enhance data science best practices

• Monitor and track the adoption of implemented solutions to demonstrate value

• Analyze large and complex datasets

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify and advance cloud/data science opportunities

• Implement agile processes and DevOps for managing machine learning projects' full lifecycle

• Provide training and mentorship to develop data science skills

• Stay updated with the latest developments in the field of data science, continuously improving and learning

• Offer advisory insights by reviewing solution approaches, strategies, methodologies, code, and architecture

• Contribute to the code base for in-house tools and build custom interfaces using frameworks like Flask, Dash, and Shiny.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related field is required

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with programming languages like Python, R, and SQL

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS and Azure

• P Eng or P Geo designation is an asset

• Advanced degree would be an asset.
