What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Implement and maintain SQL Server KPI monitoring and alerting
- Identify database bottlenecks and suggest corrective actions
- Perform post-incident customer impact analysis and maintain application availability metrics
- Install, configure, and support various database systems including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB
- Troubleshoot database issues in a variety of environments, including private datacenters and cloud platforms
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visas
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in database administration or operations
- Experience managing production systems that are highly available and reliable 24/7/365
- Proficiency in writing complex T-SQL and SQL Server stored procedures
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience managing Microsoft SQL Server in public cloud environments
- Operational experience with various technologies and managing large volumes of data
- Experience building automated solutions and scripts for database server builds using Terraform or Ansible
- Familiarity with operations technologies such as Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization environments
- Additional experience with cloud services and monitoring tools such as Azure, AWS, and SQL Sentry
