      We are inviting applications from dentists with a keen interest in Special Care Dentistry to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team. This fixed-term position, offered as maternity cover for one year, involves providing comprehensive dental care to both adults and children with additional needs.

      The Special Care Dental Service is part of a countywide service providing NHS Dental treatment to patients on referral, operating Mondays to Fridays, 08:30am to 4:30pm.

      The post is based at St. Richard's Hospital, Chichester and includes delivery of domiciliary care. Full GDC registration and immediate eligibility for a performer number are essential.

      Successful applicants will be invited for interview.

      Main duties of the job

      o Treating patients as individuals, showing them concern and respect and providing them or their carers (where appropriate) with clear information about their treatment, participating in epidemiological surveys as required.

      o Screening client groups as required.

      o Domiciliary visits.

      o Referring patients to other dental professionals as appropriate.

      o Supporting senior colleagues with the treatment of patients under general anaesthetic
