      Job Function Design Project Management Provides transmission and distribution project management expertise with construction designs and customer connections. Serves as primary liaison from first contact to final closing on projects.

      Key Responsibilities:

      Work Order Management:

      • Manages work orders in PGE’s work and asset management system (i.e., Maximo).
      • Creates and inputs initial work orders; identifies work order owners and ensures requisite data is entered.
      • Evaluates system information and updates or modifies work orders as needed.
      • Reviews work orders for completeness prior to as-built mapping; adds required information or initiates follow- up work or field checks as needed.
      • Processes non-design work orders and performs basic electrical calculations (i.e., fault current data, small scale solar transformer verifications, etc.).

      Project Coordination and Support:

      • Coordinates the timing and sequencing of work orders/activities for assigned projects; determines when work orders can be submitted for processing.
      • Investigates and reconciles information with respect to work order continuity as needed.
      • Initiates and updates tickets in the National Joint Utilities Notification System (NJUNS) database prior to construction activities on overhead facilities; ensures required notifications have been provided to affected municipalities and stakeholders.
      • Identifies required permits, prepares documentation and completes request forms to secure permits.
      • Works with Property Services to investigate easement-related issues or specialized permitting required for a specific job.
      • Inputs and maintains project-related data in a variety of company databases.

      Field Support:

      Provides field support at predesign conferences, including staking activities and marking areas for future underground locating; makes field visits to gather additional design information as requested by engineer or design project manager.

      Customer Support:

      • Serves as liaison to external customers; provides job status updates, requests additional design information and follows up on agreements, i.e., Line Extension Cost Agreements.
      • Reporting Prepares a variety of recurring and ad hoc departmental reports; summarizes reports and updates company records.

      Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

      Experience Preferred: Eight or more years of experience coordinating work orders and activities, permitting, or other support functions for engineering or construction projects in the energy industry or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

      • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
      • Intermediate knowledge of the PGE Outage Management (OMS), MAXIMO, GIS, ArcFM Viewer, eRecords and PeopleSoft systems.
      • Working knowledge of the PGE Electric Service Manual.
      • Working knowledge of PGE tariffs.
      • Working knowledge of National Joint Utilities Notification System (NJUNS) is preferred.
      • Working knowledge of fundamentals of electricity.
      • Working knowledge on how to interpret PGE system map features/legends, ability to identify map grids and use feeder maps.
      • Working knowledge of applicable permitting requirements in one or more jurisdictions within PGE’s service territory.

      Schedule/Attendance:

      • Ability to work long hours.
      • PGE supports hybrid flexible work arrangements; and will have a combination of in-the-office and working offsite. Currently, individuals in this role work in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. They work either in the office or from their home office on Mondays and Fridays. This individual will need to be located within 75 miles from job location. However, these arrangements may change due to business needs or changes in responsibility.
      • Ability to work a variable schedule
      • Ability to report to work and perform work during periods of severe inclement weather
      • Ability to consistently meet attendance standards for regular, reliable, predictable, full-time attendance

      Physical Capabilities:

      • This position requires a valid driver’s license and a history of safe driving practices.
      • Daily driving/travel/commute within service
      • Computer use (use computer regularly for entire work shift)
      • Lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying: Up to 10 lbs.
      • Unstable surfaces requiring balance:
        • Walking distances and surfaces (long distances and over rough, uneven or rocky surfaces)
        • Stairs (over 10 steps)

      Environment - Indoor/Outdoor: Office Field

      Compensation Range:

      $29.31 - $48.86

      Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
