      About the role

      In the Simulation Software Product Group, we are building a scalable digital simulation ecosystem which provides our customers more value and impact by helping healthcare professionals and educators improve the delivery of training and education through physical simulation. As part of our team, you will work alongside dedicated and creative software engineers, UI/UX designers, QA engineers, and product experts to solve new challenges as we help save lives by developing the best products and capabilities in the industry.

      The Senior DevOps Engineer plays a vital role in our Infrastructure Team, in Stavanger, Norway, by enhancing collaboration across different expertise areas in software development and operations. Central to this role is guiding the development and management of a cloud platform that supports our innovative solutions and services. The ideal role-holder will champion our cloud platform, encouraging best practices and its strategic use, while fostering cooperation with peers and teams both locally and internationally. With a strong background in software engineering and system administration, this role entails a commitment to smooth deployment, operational effectiveness, and the scalability of our software, all the while ensuring code quality and system dependability.

      Some of what you will be doing

      • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline software deployment and updates
      • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability and availability
      • Automate and manage the infrastructure using IaC (Infrastructure as Code) tools
      • Work closely with software developers, QA engineers, Product Managers, Designers and Engineering Managers to ensure a seamless and efficient development and deployment process
      • Implement and maintain security policies and procedures to safeguard the infrastructure and data
      • Optimize system performance for scalability and efficiency
      • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies
      • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members, and stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies

      Who we envision would fit the role

      Preferred qualifications and experience:

      • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, software development, or system administration
      • Proficiency in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI), cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
      • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certification) are a plus
      • Fluent English (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly
      • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
      • Collaboration with cross-functional teams and championing solutions and practices
