- Lead the creative development and implementation of the department’s cohesive strategy to increase Points of Light’s outreach and engagement with the brand.
- Provide strategic marketing and creative counsel to departments, programs, convenings and campaigns, and support the department in developing and implementing integrated marketing and communications plans.
- In partnership with the chief marketing officer and the department senior vice president, play an integral role managing the brand, including the implementation of guidelines and the ongoing effort to ensure brand consistency.
- Lead the development, design and production of print and digital collateral, photography/video assets, and branded merchandise including directly supervising and providing creative direction to the graphic designer and any contractors hired for such work.
- Coordinate with partner agencies and internal functions on website development and the development of other externally facing vehicles and materials. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the Points of Light brand is represented appropriately throughout programs, events, convenings and products.

- Demonstrated experience and leadership in developing comprehensive strategic marketing and communications plans to advance mission and goals
- Strong leadership, analytic, and strategic planning skills, including evidence of ability to work across organizational boundaries to achieve results
- Extensive experience with the full spectrum of the creative process, including brand strategy, storytelling, user research, multimedia assets, and design for all platforms from print to digital
- Proven, excellent communication skills – written and verbal; strong interpersonal skills – and the ability to communicate complex ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
- Highly collaborative style; positive attitude; strong work ethic grounded in honesty and integrity
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe CC software, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc.
- Knowledge of digital marketing tactics, including SEO, GoogleAds, email marketing, automation and web analytics. Knowledge of AP Style is preferred
- Strong working knowledge with the full spectrum of the web design and development process, including strategy, IA, UX/UI, concepting, coding, and usability testing
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 7-10 years’ experience, with prior experience in a brand creative and marketing role in corporate, agency or nonprofit (including supervisory responsibilities).
- Portfolio of previous work that displays an ability to turn an idea into an effective communications and marketing piece.
- Some travel required.
- Ability to create a welcoming work environment for all.

Salary: $85,000 - $116,000 annually

Location: Points of Light is a remote-first organization. Any U.S. location in the Eastern or Central time zone in a market with a major airport. Washington, DC preferred.
Position Summary: The Senior Director, Branding and Creative Services reports to the Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications. Points of Light’s marketing and communication goals are dynamic and touch every aspect of the organization’s multiple portfolios that engage individuals, nonprofits, corporate employers, and young people in volunteer service. This role requires an experienced and exceptional marketing professional to lead the department’s creative and digital services, contribute to shaping the department’s overall strategy, with focus on marketing to help the organization deliver on its mission, yield a cohesive sense of the organization’s identity, measure the impact of brand efforts, and improve Points of Light’s brand. The Senior Director, Brand and Creative Services is the main steward of the Points of Light brand, including visual identity, to ensure consistency in all its applications. The Senior Director is responsible for the design and material production, which includes supervising and providing creative direction to a graphic designer, as well as managing and providing creative direction to any external contractors such as designers, website developers, and printers.
