      POSITION SUMMARY :

      Works in concert with Boston Medical Center (BMC) clinical, operations, and supply chain leadership to investigate medical product, services, and equipment utilization opportunities throughout the BMC network. Recommends and implements strategic direction of expense management program that enables high quality care and innovation at low cost. Leverages Supply Chain/Finance data analytics and clinical evidence to inform decisions and monitor progress against goals. This position requires excellent organizational skills, comprehensive medical product knowledge, impeccable communication skills and a genuine commitment to excellence in program development.

      Position: Senior Director, Clinical Value Analysis

      ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

      • Leads a team to develop and implement product variation reduction and utilization initiatives working with various BMC clinical staff and leadership
      • Utilizes clinical product value analysis committees to review products and technology for clinical evidence and benefit; discuss financial considerations to include contract compliance, cost and reimbursement; identify opportunities to standardize products and reduce waste; and maintain or increases product quality and patient outcomes
      • Communicates financial and performance measurements as an indicator of success
      • Monitors and analyzes trends in healthcare costs (internal and external) and collaborates with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement
      • Trains and educates staff on value analysis processes and procedures to foster a culture of cost-consciousness and continuous improvement
      • Informs/educates all affected departments, physicians, and medical management personnel regarding product changes related to clinical supply issues and variation reduction initiatives.

      JOB REQUIREMENTS

      EDUCATION:

      • Bachelor’s in Nursing, Business, Healthcare Administration or related field
      • Master’s degree preferred.

      CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

      • License to practice professional nursing as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts preferred
      • Certified Materials and Resource Professional (CMRP), Certified Value Analysis Health Professional (CVAHP), or similar credential preferred.

      EXPERIENCE:

      • 8 to 10 years of patient care / healthcare supply chain strategic sourcing and/or value analysis experience.
      • 5+ years of supply chain leadership experience.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA):

      • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills to include negotiation, persuasion, team building, and conflict resolution
      • Working knowledge of healthcare supply chain functions, clinical products, and healthcare reimbursement
      • Highly organized and motivated to lead, build, organize and direct a best-in-class Clinical Quality Value Analysis program
      • High aptitude and interest for learning and educating peers
      • Proficient in Microsoft suite of products
