      Job Summary

      P&C Inside Plant Construction & Maintenance is seeking qualified Senior Distribution Supervisor whose primary role is to manage both Union and Management employees in order to safely and efficiently operate and maintain the electric distribution and transmission system during storms and non-storm conditions. In addition to responding to electric emergencies, T&D Operations is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the electric distribution and transmission system.

      Job Responsibilities

      As a Senior Distribution Supervisor in our Inside Plant Maintenance Department located in our Central Division service territory, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
      This is a second level supervisory position. Supervise the Substation Supervisors and Bargaining Unit associates responsible for the maintenance and repairs of electrical and mechanical equipment in substations and switching stations in accordance with manufacturer’s and Company standards. Ensure application of safe work principles. Direct the preventative maintenance and construction work on substation and switching station equipment and maintain complete records of work performed. Plan long-term work schedules and revise in accordance with failures and emergencies, as needed. Train and evaluate bargaining unit and MAST employees in their performance of duties. Must be able to accept substation on-call assignments and have a willingness to respond outside of normal work hours. Must have knowledge of the SAP work Management and CMMS Data Base Systems and the ability to evaluate, enter, and access data. Must have extensive experience in the operation, construction, and maintenance of substation and switching station equipment. Ability to develop a departmental work plan, and supervise Substation Maintenance Supervisors in the performance of their work.

      Job Specific Qualifications

      Required:
      High school graduate or equivalent.
      • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.
      • Must obtain an acceptable score on the First Line Supervisor's Test (FLST) unless presently directly and supervising (i.e. responsible for performance review) operating department / represented associates for a minimum of 12 continuous months. For those who have previously taken and received an acceptable score on the FLST but who are not presently and directly supervising represented associates, test results will be valid for a maximum period of two years from the date the test was taken. Acceptable test results exceeding the two-year period (for those applicants not presently and directly supervising represented associates) cannot be used in bidding on or applying for a first line supervisory position for which the test was validated.
      • Extensive experience (5 - 10 years) in the construction and maintenance of mechanical equipment in Switching Stations and Substations.
      • Team building skills to lead the Substation Mechanic Group.
      • Ability to read and understand schematics, wiring, and 1-line diagrams.
      • Ability to maintain effective working relationships and interface with other groups in the Division as well as Asset Management and other P&C associates.
      • Support work activities during & outside of normal working hours including response to system and weather events within and outside of the division as needed.
      • This position requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, applicants must possess a valid US driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.


      Desired:
      • Experience troubleshooting and responding to electric distribution system emergencies.
      • Supervisory experience including Union workforce supervision
      • Knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Local Union 94, as well as the ability to plan, organize, and control field operations.
      • Project management experience including cost control methods.
