      The Role:
      The primary purpose of this role is to drive and deliver safe and sustainable electrical engineering for multiple O&G brownfield projects.

      The role requires experience in delivering engineering scope through the lifecycle of phases from order of magnitude, preliminary engineering, definitive engineering, detailed design through to execution including procurement, installation, commissioning, and site support. The successful candidate is expected to be able to lead, deliver design and peer review discipline deliverables as per their technical strengths.

      Proven discipline project lead experience on brownfield projects is highly preferred. This position does not guarantee lead roles on all projects; there is an expectation the candidate will be a design engineer as well.

      Your responsibilities will include:

      • Perform discipline specific engineering services such as:
      1. Preparing and overseeing the production of detailed design including deliverables such as: drawings, specifications, scopes of work, calculations, technical reports, datasheets, tender documentation, requisitions, estimates, budgets and schedules for scope variation and technical queries;
      2. conduct appropriate studies/optioneering of solutions, analyses and recommendation of suitable actions;
      3. Undertake and/or review system studies, protection coordination, arc flash hazard assessments and defining mitigating solutions.
      4. undertake tender bid evaluations; and
      5. provide input and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
      • Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures.
      • Interfacing and/or managing various electrical vendors, packages, contractors and control system to ensure alignment and technical compliance,
      • Driving the pace and efficiency in the delivery of the electrical design packages ready for execution.
      • Interpreting and applying technical standards.
      • Undertaking technical verification of project deliverables by others in the team.
      • Supporting the electrical team and younger engineers/graduates.
      • Liaise with other disciplines to ensure design interfaces are clear.
      • Uphold the change management process and ensure that the project and any changes to the project comply with:
      1. Worley systems’, policies, processes, procedures and standards;
      2. applicable statutory and regulatory requirements; and
      3. the project scope of work.
      • Where required, prepare or assist in the preparation of project documentation such as budgets, estimates, forecasts, schedules, and reports.
      • Direct and coordinate the home office and workshare electrical engineers, designers and technical personnel in the execution of the project plus provide technical guidance (as required).
      • Participate and input into in project reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs and safety in design workshops as required.
      • Communicate effectively and regularly with the Lead Engineer, Lead Designer, electrical team, including the Workshare team on design, deliverables and technical matters.
      • Where acting as a project lead:
      1. Manage sequence of engineering tasks at a high level to ensure deliver according to project schedules (including activities by third party contractors)
      2. Primary interface with customer for discipline-specific engineering issues
      3. Ensure technical integrity of the discipline’s deliverables through the implementation of checking and design review activities
      4. Provide technical direction, control and supervision for engineering and design on the project
      5. Deliver the discipline’s design deliverables within schedule and budget
      6. Maintain discipline task and deliverables lists for the project
      7. Manage quality and consistency within the discipline
      8. Coordinate change control and technical query process within the discipline
      9. Manage discipline resources assigned to the project
      10. Report progress of discipline deliverables
      11. Resolve discipline technical issues
      12. Maintain discipline files and follow the “Worley Way” processes
      13. Coordinate design with other disciplines and squad checking deliverables

      Job Specific Competencies:

      • Highly effective organisational skills including the ability to plan, set goals, prioritise, set accountabilities, manage schedule and budget.
      • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills is a must including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups and effective technical document writing and grammar skills.
      • Excellent technical and practical engineering skills in the relevant discipline, and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its clients.
      • Pro-active, goal oriented with excellent attention to detail.
      • Effectively manages change to work tasks and the work environment and assists others with adapting to change.
      • Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to learn and continuously improve on performance.
      • Excellent customer focus and able to consistently meet Worley and its client’s needs.
      • Understanding and application of Management of Change procedure.

      About You

      • A recognised Bachelor qualification in the relevant discipline.
      • Relevant experience in the oil and gas (or closely allied) industry (essential) – Preference for Woodside.
      • Experience across all phases of engineering projects from feasibility/conceptual studies through to detailed design and execution (essential)
      • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status (beneficial)
      • Hazardous Area Accreditation (highly preferable)
      • Functional Safety Accreditation (preferable)
      • Good understanding and proven experience in:
      1. Brownfield interfacing
      2. Multiple package interfacing
      3. HV and LV systems
      4. Arc flash hazard analysis and design of mitigation methods
      5. System studies, protection coordination and design of protection systems
      6. Switchgear, protection, generation and power reticulation
      7. Control system interfacing and instrumentation
      8. Site experience in construction and commissioning
      9. Equipment inspections, FATs, SATs
      10. Preparing ITPs, specifications, construction methodologies, philosophy documents, procurement, tender documentation and scope of works
      11. Input into electrical estimates and execution schedules
      12. Shutdown planning
