      Who we’re looking for

      Toyota Auto Body California (TABC) is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Engineer - Plant Operations

      The primary responsibility of this role is to support TABC’s Bodyweld and Paint production for its customers.

      The Senior Engineer - Plant Operations will provide engineering support by addressing daily problem-solving tasks and the projects associated with volume changes and kaizens primarily in the Bodyweld Shop.

      What you’ll be doing

      • Lead/Support Annual Plan (Hoshin) activity
      • Support/lead floor space management activities
      • Responsible for project budgets and timely implementation
      • Write and Implement Budget Proposals (Ringi’s) - related to Capital and Operating costs.
      • Support manufacturing (Body Weld / Electro-Deposition (ED) Coat) in Safety, Quality, and Production (Operation Rate %) with challenges related to Key Performance Indicator targets and kaizen activity.
      • Lead / Support problem-solving activities via Toyota Business Process (TBP’s), Quality Circles, and Flash Reports
      • Work with Regional Leads (S.O.A.R.) to share and implement best practices.
      • Support manufacturing with Engineering Change management from each of TABC’s customers
      • Develop scopes of work, establish operation plans, and manage projects related to new/modified equipment installations, equipment upgrades, and repairs.
      • Ensure the paint process is operating per Toyota, PPG, and Henkel standard working with lab operators and maintenance Team Members to identify C/M and Kaizen opportunities.
      • Ongoing Electro-Deposition process equipment refurbishment, improvement, and replacement
      • Set up Electro-Deposition trials to support paint and part changes.
      • Provide training for team members on Process and Equipment
      • Work with Suppliers & Vendors to keep current on Process Information & Technology

      What you bring

      • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering
      • Experience in Paint and/or Coatings manufacturing or similar
      • Project management experience for capital manufacturing projects, including project creation and KPI tracking through to the completed project
      • Experience troubleshooting for product quality and manufacturing equipment

      Added bonus if you have

      • Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemical engineering
      • Stamping or Welding experience
      • Experience in an Automotive Manufacturing or Production role
      • Electro-Deposition experience
      • Experience with wastewater processing
      • Haz Mat handling and disposal experience
      • PLC experience

      The annual base salary range for this position is

      $108,200.00 - $175,800.00
