Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst for Surveillance Analytics team. This position is with Corporate Bank - Transaction Surveillance Technology area.

Transaction Surveillance Technology is an integral part of Cash Management and has been established as a first line of defence function to build appropriate controls to ensure regulatory compliance

To strengthen our development team, we are looking for Data Analyst who can participate in Data analysis, data controls, manage the workload and implement innovative solutions to achieve our goal.

As a Data Analyst and part of Surveillance Analytics team within Corporate Bank (CB) Technology, you will provide a holistic view of clients across all businesses and systems globally to a range of key stakeholders in the front office, middle office and operations. This team provides a key supporting role in ensuring that Deutsche Bank complies with regulatory commitments from data perspective.

Your key responsibilities

• Working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) globally across functions to respond to data inquiries as quickly as possible with a view toward addressing them in the strategic roadmap.
• Keeping track of all data issues to initiate end to end Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and other regular Management Information (MI) that can be published to show progress.
• Good Problem solver and troubleshooting capabilities for data related requirements.
• Become a business SME to support Tech teams by the following best practices, and issue resolutions.
• Experience of working in an Agile development methodology supporting remote as well as local delivery teams
• Manage and elaborate the backlog items and work with other squad members to enable cross-skilling ensuring timely completion & delivery .

• Provide Level-3 technical support as part of reliability Analytics team. Contribute in toil reduction from production and improve automation.
• Implementation and compliance with bank policies (naming conventions, data residency, encryption, security settings, capacity, availability, and other non-functional requirements).

• Logic and query reviews based on the four-eye principle as well as problem and root cause analysis.
• Create, restructure, and manage large datasets, files, and systems. Conduct qualitative and quantitative research and use mixed-method approaches to data analysis. Write technical documents for data processing decisions and summarize the quality of data.
• Effective, timely communication with external / internal stake holders.
• Innovative and smart ways of carrying out day-to day activities related to data analytics.
• Mentor junior team members.

Apart from daily development activities, it is also expected that you contribute on following:

• Review and take in of vendor deliverables
• Integration of the above with DB infrastructure

• Presentation for technical as well as business audience in demo sessions
• Technical support for functional as well as performance testing.

Your skills and experience

• Total 7+ years of experience in IT industry with exposure to data analytics
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (analyzes the technical defect, identify the root-cause, and provide workaround/permanent solution)
• Experience in data analysis and techniques with good knowledge in Python , SQL (and Tableau)
• Experience in understanding of data architecture, data model, data specifications and data formats (e.g., JSON)
• Understanding of Cash Management Products and Payment Standards, e.g., SWIFT MT, ISO20022
• Understanding of payment domain (SWIFT MT and MX message types) and other ACH message formats will be good to have.
• Experience of working in an Agile development methodology supporting remote as well as local delivery teams
• An ability to understand and translate control requirements into business and data requirements whilst adhering to the agreed specification quickly and effectively.

Must have skills-

• Python, SQL
• Oracle
• GCP Stack – BigQuery, Postgres
• Data Analytics at least 7 years of experience

Nice to have skills-

• Advanced Oracle 12c: Data Migration, Partitions, Performance Tuning, AWR Reports
• Functional: Payment Industry overview, Sanctions screening, MT/MX/ISO messaging
