      As a Senior Engineer – Semiconductors, you will innovate independently to develop novel WBG semiconductor devices across a range of technologies for applications of interest to GE Aerospace.

      Roles and Responsibilities

      As a Senior Engineer you will:

      • Actively engage in the modeling, design, and development of novel WBG semiconductor devices.
      • Be involved with the fabrication, testing, reliability assessments, and/or failure analysis of various devices.
      • Provide technical expertise in areas such as semiconductor materials, device physics and design, and/or device fabrication, test and reliability.
      • Interact with GE Aerospace, government agencies and GE partners and customers to understand their initiatives and help shape device research programs accordingly.
      • Actively pursue and write internal and external white papers and proposals
      • Establish/grow an external network of collaborators in academia, government, and industry
      • Patent your inventions and continue to develop a record of publication via conferences and peer reviewed journals.

      Required Qualifications

      • Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related applied science with at least 8 years of experience OR Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related applied science with at least 15 years of experience
      • Fundamental knowledge of semiconductor device physics
      • Deep knowledge and experience in modeling, design and testing of WBG semiconductor devices
      • A proven record of research and development, and experience in WBG device development by peer-reviewed conference proceedings, and journal publications.

      Desired Characteristics

      • Experience in design and process modeling of WBG/UWBG diodes and transistors through TCAD (e.g. Silvaco, Sentaurus, Medici)
      • Hands-on experience in the fabrication, device integration and testing of WBG (e.g. SiC, GaN, gallium oxide, diamond) semiconductors devices
      • Expertise in radiation physics and rad-hard by design
      • Expertise with WBG power devices, integrated circuits, quantum magnetometry, and/or photodiodes
      • Demonstrated experience in the preparation and execution of proposals for external funding agencies
      • Ability to identify creative solutions to key technical challenges or business needs
      • Excellent communication skills and ability to interface across all functions/levels and customers with clarity and confidence
      • Understands six-sigma, design of experiments, and can use statistics towards optimization and specification of design windows
      • High levels of curiosity, independence and creativity.
      • Strong interpersonal skills, team oriented with “can - do” mindset.

      The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $205,000 USD, annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
