      Federal Signal is searching for a Senior Software Engineer who can assist in making decisions on engineering problems and issues, requiring the use of advanced techniques and the adaption and extension of theories and practices of own field and related disciplines.

      Key Activities/Responsibilities

      • Develops, revises, and maintains new product development and team guidance plans in terms of product cost estimates, project cost estimates, and schedules.
      • Writes software.
      • Manages revision control of source code, executables and installers.
      • Develop and execute testing and debugging routines and collaborates with Test Engineers.
      • Documents work and results.
      • Develops, reviews and approves Service Publications.
      • Serve as a resource to others in the Engineering Department.
      • Develops and adheres to engineering standards.
      • Determine design requirements and develop detailed specifications to ensure project objectives are met.
      • Participates with other departments and functions and/ or leads project teams on a broad range of business unit processes, projects, and coordinates activities for the assigned product lines.
      • Flexibility to perform other duties and assignments as required.

      Required:

      • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, from an accredited university. Advanced degree desired.
      • 5 or more years of engineering experience.
      • Knowledge of current design principles, theories and methods.
      • Web service and mobile application development.
      • Sufficiently understands customer requirements and delivers results that meet these needs.
      • Possesses strong verbal and written communications skills

      Desired Experience with:

      • SQL, JavaScript (Angular, React, JQuery or Vue), object oriented C#, C++, ASP and .NET Core Framework
      • Large-scale SaaS-based web and mobile applications
      • REST APIs
      • Database design, querying technologies and frameworks
      • Atlassian (or equivalent) software management tools
      • SIP, SMS, SMTP, SNMP, HTTPS, RS232, RS485, VoIP and other communications protocols
      • IP networks and protocols
      • Software security implementations
      • SCADA applications and integration with hardware

      Salary Range: $77,998/yr - $133,710/yr
