      National Grid is hiring a Senior Engineer for our interactive and team-oriented MA North division Gas Engineering Design team in Waltham, MA.

      Our Team

      We develop and manage the design and engineering for pipeline projects within the New England North distribution territory. We are a high-performing team made up of civil and mechanical engineers of all skill and experience levels and are positioned under the supervision and mentorship of Professional Engineers.

      What You'll Do

      • Develop and coordinate designs for natural gas engineering projects to improve and grow our system
      • Assess project scopes to identify local requirements and risks prior to design to ensure a complete, high quality and safe project outcome
      • Manage multiple projects and prioritize work, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
      • Design and create drawing packages for construction using AutoCAD in accordance with company and industry standards
      • Manage external engineering design firms and ensure their designs are performed in accordance with company and industry standards

      About You

      • ABET-accredited B.S. Degree in Engineering required
      • 5+ years in a civil or mechanical engineering role required
      • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite required
      • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design products required
      • Experience using ArcGIS software preferred
      • EIT or progress toward it required
      • PE license preferred
      • Valid driver’s license required

      Salary

      $108,000 - $127,000 a year

      Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
