What You’ll Do
You will be responsible for managing cross-functional programs and delivering cutting-edge SW for the Cisco access, routing and optical solutions and Software for Open Networking in the Cloud (SONiC). You will be expected to manage software programs, complex solutions and releases in close collaboration with cross-functional teams spanning geographic regions, product areas and functions.
Who You’ll Work With
You will be part of the Global Business Operations (GBO) Routing PMO Team that is responsible for managing software projects for the Cisco access, routing and optical, SONiC solutions. We are looking for a seasoned Program Manager to contribute to the delivery of innovative software solutions within our fast-paced Distributed System Engineering (DSE) group. The DSE group is at the forefront of developing products that power the largest networks in the world. The networking industry is going through a massive transformation to build the next generation infrastructure to meet the needs of AI/ML workloads and continuously increasing internet users and application. We are uniquely positioned to capture that market transition. This team builds products by harnessing the potential of open-source technologies while pushing the boundaries on Systems and Silicon Architecture.
Who You Are
As a Senior Engineering Program Manager you would be described as a driven and results oriented leader. You have a keen ability to work with a broad range of cross-functional teams including hardware, supply chain and account teams. You have the ability to collate information across disparate activities and distill it into clear communications for senior leaders and executives. You have the ability to adapt to change, proactively manage risks, clear roadblocks, and drive outcomes with product management and engineering.
Responsibilities
• Program manage software programs, releases and solutions involving cross functional teams comprising Product Management, SW Engineering, HW, Operations, Technical Support, customer experience, account teams, supply chain etc.
• Communicate regularly and effectively to management and executives on program status, risks and change control.
• Manage end-to-end product life-cycle from initiation to deployment.
• Build and drive outcome-based program plans in alignment with strategic goals and customer success.
• Comfortable engaging with SMEs including system engineers and software architects. Influence stakeholders in the assessment, strategy, planning, and management of complex implementations.
• Develop complete, well thought out execution plans that incorporate sound contingency planning and risk assessments.
• Lead meetings to resolve conflicts, facilitate decision making, and drive timely execution.
• Maintain tight control of cross functional dependencies and program execution, ensuring completion of project on schedule, with quality and within budget constraints.
• Track KPIs, deliverables, milestones, action items, technical dependencies, risks and mitigation plans across programs and solutions.
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of industry-standard software quality measurements, defect tracking and categorization methodologies, testing methodologies to track quality.
• Develop strong working relationships with cross functional teams across all levels of the org to best understand and deliver on business goals and priorities.
• Keep up with advancements in product technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
• Hands-on experience in managing large-scale technical programs from inception to delivery successfully.
• Demonstrated experience breaking down problems, organizing work, planning work/sprints, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and deliver technical programs in agile/waterfall delivery models.
• Distinct experience leading large-scale technical programs from inception to delivery and experience
• Advanced knowledge of product development lifecycle, SDLC Methodologies, Software release management, HW New Product Introduction lifecycle.
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and collaborative skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer sciences, software engineering, technology management, business management, or similar.
• 8+ years of experience in technical program management, preferably in a related industry.
• Extensive experience in software product engineering, deployment, and integration
• Working knowledge or experience with SONiC and other open source technologies
• Experience leading hardware programs and releases, HW New Product Introduction lifecycle knowledge
• Experience with JIRA, and other collaboration tools such as sharepoint and confluence
