      Overall purpose of role

      The role of the Senior analyst covering US Insurance - Life & Non-Life will involve a focus on client-facing, innovative research. It will also include significant management responsibilities and the ability to collaborate across all Financials geographies, verticals and asset classes regularly, and other sector teams on occasion.

      Key Accountabilities

      · To serve as lead analyst for the US Insurance – Life & Non-Life sector

      · Internal interface with sales, trading and other partners across the firm

      · Primary analyst responsible for regular engagement with clients and senior executives of covered companies as the senior analyst of the US Insurance – Life & Non-Life sector

      · Mana ge team of junior research analysts, including overseeing work product , contributing to their development , ensuring team building, and being an advocate of training and mentorship. Work closely with junior analysts to establish expectations and impart sector knowledge.

      · Write innovative research on key topics, leveraging the Barclays “toolbox” of Thematic, Data and ESG Reports

      Stakeholder Management and Leadership

      · The role requires significant (10+ years) experience as a sellside equity research analyst covering US insurance ( buyside experience a plus) .

      · The role requires demonstrated success on an equities platform of similar size and scale to Barclays (“bulge bracket”)

      · The role requires an established and positive client franchise in the US Insurance – Life & Non-Life sector , with an Institutional Investor ranking in at least one of the two categories preferred

      · The role requires active and effective management of a team of junior analysts

      · The role requires collaboration and effective communication across the Global Research complex

      · The role requires high levels of collaborative engagement and effective communication with senior internal and external stakeholders

      · The role requires productive interactions with the management teams of covered and non-covered companies

      Person Specification

      Strong existing client franchise in the US Insurance – Life & Non-Life. The ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders internally and externally. A background that includes 10+ years on the sellside covering this sector.

      Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

      · Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills

      · Solid financial experience including financial modelling, financial statement analysis and working with large data sets

      • Strong academic background; advanced degree
      • A bility to work effectively in a team environment, proven leadership qualities

      Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

      · Resourcefulness, entrepreneurial spirit

      Salary Rate / Minimum : $220,000

      Salary Rate / Maximum : $300,000
