Position summary:
The Senior Cost Estimator works cross functionally to establish cost estimates and minimum required pricing for new products and changes to existing products. For awarded business, the Senior Cost Estimator establishes initial program budgets, manages program financials through program launch, and helps to establish overhead rates for manufacturing and quoting purposes.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Develops cost estimates and quotes for 1) new products and 2) changes to existing products which drive company profitability.
2. Establish fixed and variable overhead rates for manufacturing for use in quoting for ADAC-Electronics.
3. Assist in the implementation of a formal quote process in the newly acquired ADAC-Electronics division.
4. Establish program budgets and manage business case financials from initial quote to production launch.
5. Supports sales with financial scenarios /financial modeling for mid life-cycle profitability Improvements.
Required Education & Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, Engineering or Business Administration, or equivalent combination of technical and manufacturing work experience and education.
2. 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating position, with strong financial acumen.
Preferred Education & Experience:
1. Experience working in the automotive, electronics, or plastics industries.
2. Experience working in product costing and quoting.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. Communication: Effectively communicates in all forms, as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
2. Complex Problem Solving: Identifies complex problems and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and potential solutions.
3. Manufacturing Knowledge: Understands product manufacturing and is familiar with:
a. Raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
b. Knowledge of machines and tools required in the production and control of company products.
c. Knowledge of logistics, including relative costs.
4. Coordination: Effectively distribute and manage information received to ensure deliverables are met within required timing.
