      Position: Senior Financial Analyst

      Job Description:

      The Senior Financial Analyst role leads financial planning, forecasting, and analysis supporting strategic goals through highly organized processes and modeling of key performance indicators. In addition, they provide consultative financial analysis and recommendations aligned with and in support of Forward Air’s financial and strategic objectives.

      Core Responsibilities & Duties:

      • Responsible for providing financial consulting and strategic support to senior management including preparing board presentations, financial presentations, and capital planning analysis, industry comparisons, new business opportunities, acquisition analysis and other projects requested by the senior team
      • Responsible for building and implementing a revenue forecast and analysis process through collaboration with Sales/Marketing supported by measurable assumptions
      • Design and perform metric-based cost efficiency analysis projects for both operational and staff functions
      • Clearly present inputs, assumptions, key performance factors, and basis for recommendations
      • Key participant in the development of effective financial modeling and analysis to support strategic marketing and new business initiatives and business plans aligned with the financial and strategic objectives of Forward Air
      • Responsible for providing support to Forward Air corporate and functional strategic planning initiatives
      • Works with external consultants when required, prepares recommendations, and makes presentations to management as required
      • Responsible for supporting an ethical and compliant environment in accordance with company policies and procedures and industry regulations and standards
      • Other duties as assigned

      Qualifications:

      • Requires a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or related field of study, MBA preferred
      • Must have at least 3-5 years of financial analysis experience performing complex computer modeling and consultation for a large organization, preferably a network-based company
      • Must have demonstrated project management experience
      • Must have demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to engage, inspire and collaborate across all functional areas including external stakeholders
      • Must have demonstrated experience in developing and managing volume, yield, and revenue forecasts
      • Must have demonstrated experience in financial, trending and benchmarking analysis and reporting
      • Must have demonstrated experience leading financial planning and forecasting processes, operations management analysis, and capital expenditure analysis and control
      • Must have demonstrated experience in decision support, and looks to anticipate the analysis needed for decisions
      • Must have demonstrated creative idea development capabilities with the executive presence to interact with senior staff and strategic vendor partners
      • Must have demonstrated advanced modeling capabilities with the ability to work with large data sets
      • Highly skilled at getting results through influence rather than direct authority

      • The ideal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic
      • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of operations
      • Advanced spreadsheet skills and working knowledge of financial planning software
      • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
