      The Opportunity

      This position works out of our Lake Forest, IL location on site in the ARDx ID Business Unit. The person hired in this role is expected to work on site. This position reports to the Infectious Disease business unit R&D Manager and interacts regularly with DVPs, directors, managers, and individual contributors in various divisions/organizations, and other internal functional areas.
      This role is responsible for R&D business support providing in-depth financial analyzes, ad-hoc reports and support to key business partners. Supports the monthly financial close and planning process, interacting with R&D business leaders for accurate, consistent, standardized, and timely financial reviews.

      What You’ll Work On

      • Supports the R&D function business unit monthly financial close and planning process, develops, and submits well-prepared financial Plan, Latest Best Estimates (LBEs), Long Range Plans (LRPs) and business cases.
      • Supports the consolidation of the Infectious Disease business unit Capital projects and coordinate with the different internal functional areas the need of capital and capital expenditures, including follow up support to solve open items.
      • Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence, counsel and support the R&D business leadership and their staff.
      • Assist with preparation of management PowerPoint presentations.
      • Effectively summarize key points for senior leadership and be able to adjust message when dealing with non-finance personnel within and outside the Division.
      • Must be flexible, adapting to changing priorities, demonstrate persistence in following through, and likewise be able to make timely decisions oftentimes with limited data.
      • Provide comprehensive analysis and include the assessment of all data and assumptions used, including assessing the strategy for reasonableness and the degree of achievability of the forecasts presented.
      • Performance of quality control review of submissions including data integrity, commentary and business assumptions for completeness, accuracy and consistency is critical.


      Required Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
      • 4 years of applicable experience and ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment is essential; must be able to effectively manage workload to ensure deadlines are met.
      • Previous experience working with large amounts of data and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Demonstrate the ability to complete assignments involving all levels of management and functional areas.
      • Strong analytical / problem-solving skills and the capability to conduct complex data analysis.
      • Creativity and the ability to work in an ambiguous and unstructured environment are necessary skills.
      • Excellent communication skills are essential, as this role interacts with multiple levels within the organization.
      • Self-starter and highly motivated; ability to operate with minimal direction, manage multiple priorities and changing customer demands.

      The base pay for this position is

      $71,300.00 – $142,700.00
