- To provide specialist psychological assessments of clients based on the appropriate use of tests, self-report measures, observations and interviews with support networks.
- To plan and implement a range of formal, informal and creative psychological interventions and treatments, employing methods of proven efficacy and drawing upon different explanatory models whilst maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses.
- To undertake risk assessments for individual clients and to provide advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk
- To offer advice and consultation on an individual's psychological care to non-clinical colleagues, and to role-model and foster trauma-informed services and psychologically informed environments through reflective practice and joint case working.
- As the Senior Clinical / Counselling Psychologist in the team, the post holder will have supervisory and line management responsibility for a Band 7 Clinical/Counselling Psychologist and will provide supervisory support to other members of the MDT.

Facilitates the dissemination of effective evidence informed psychological practice within the team and service by supporting psychologically informed protocols, guidelines and procedures implemented by other members of the MDT
- Regularly undertakes applied research and development activities related to the needs of the clients served and the Psychology Service as a whole.Provides teaching/training sessions/programmes in psychological principles and practice for other members of the MDT.Provides supervision and liaison-consultation services to enable and support client related work undertaken by other members of the MDT

In completing agreed duties, plans, organises and prioritises own time, activities and workload (manages own clinical caseload, plans group sessions, plans and organises teaching and research activities, organises administrative responsibilities, etc).

Job summary
As a Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist you will provide a highly specialist, multi level clinical and forensic psychology service that is cost-effective, culturally appropriate and based on best clinical and professional practice, that will meet Trust and Divisional objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements. Therefore meeting service user and carer needs and expectations. To thereby help understand, prevent and ameliorate psychological distress and disorder and improve the mental health and well-being of the Service Users of the forensic service.
This post attracts a yearly RSU allowance of £1446 per annum.
