      Touchpoint Platform is at the heart of ING’s strategy aimed at equipping our engineers with all the tools they need! The tools we provide them, enables them to create business applications that has a differentiating customer experience. Our product area is called One Experience and we also contribute towards the Touchpoint Platform. We own three major products, the Unified Design System, Web, and Mobile SDKs, as well as Content Management as a Service.

      The Team

      To be more specific, the Unified Design System is split into multiple feature teams, located in different countries, and consisting of different disciplines: UX, Web and Mobile. Hierarchically, we are within the Web and Mobile SDK area and our main challenge now is to develop a global Design System in line with ING Global Branding using web component standards. These components are used as the fundament of all frontend application build by ING engineers worldwide. As engineers, we love to collaborate. We value high quality components, which are flexible, high performant and accessible for those with physical – or situational disabilities. We proudly use the browser as our platform using our open-sourced white label components as a solid foundation.

      Roles and Responsibilities

      How to succeed

      • 10+ years’ experience in development/software engineering and working within agile organisations.
      • Experience with the NodeJS ecosystem and enjoy keeping up to date with the latest JavaScript releases and features.
      • Familiarity with web components meta-specification.
      • You prefer lightweight web components over heavy frameworks.
      • Experience with the Accessibility (a11y) standards.
      • Experience building Design Systems.
      • Familiar with design tokens.
      • You like writing CSS and follow its developments.
      • Experience working and interacting with visual designers.
      • Desirable Design Patterns: Single Page Applications, Server-Side Rendering / Static Site Generation, SEO optimization.
      • Strong technical communication skills and keen to engage with customers.
      • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
