- Report to the Manager, Decision Support, the Senior Functional Analyst leverages business and technical knowledge to ensure that assigned business systems effectively support business strategies, objectives, processes and practices for an assigned business area.
- Be responsible to provide leadership and coordination for ensuring that functional Business Systems issues are resolved effectively and in a timely manner and continually looks for opportunities to maximize usage of the system to ensure on-going business process improvement.
- Be the primary point of contact for the designated business area users (Employee Engagement/Human Resources, Scheduling & Timekeeping, Finance, Payroll, Supply Chain, Accounts Payable and Revenue Services, etc) across Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and Providence Health Care (PHC), the Senior Functional Analyst is the acknowledged expert in the designated Business Systems’ modules and drives continuous process and system improvement to align with business objectives.
- Provide functional leadership and assistance to executive leaders to strategic planning and implement business objectives.
- Work with users to troubleshoot system problems, test system solutions, establish clear lines of communication and ensure clear visibility to critical functional issues.
- Provide work direction to IMIS team members to address technical issues and works with other corporate departments as well as counterparts in other business areas to mitigate risk around shared elements and critical system dependencies.
- Ensure established operating standards and policies are adhered to.
- Configure system changes affecting system processing and changes to common data elements shared across modules, writes queries to pull information from the system and conducts system audits to ensure data integrity.
- Identify opportunities to further take advantage of the system and keeps up to date with new and upcoming functionality.
- Masters’ Degree in a related discipline supplemented by related Information Systems courses, plus a minimum of eight (8) years’ recent, related experience within a large complex organization with an emphasis on business systems and reporting an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Extensive experience with complex Business systems, project planning and control are essential.
- Advanced knowledge of relational and multidimensional databases and strong Structured Query language (SQL) skills.
- Advanced knowledge of broad scope of computerized Business Systems such as PeopleSoft, Kronos, Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (HRCM).
- Advanced knowledge of business principles and practices in Employee Engagement/Human Resources, Scheduling & Timekeeping, Finance, Payroll, Supply Chain, Accounts Payable and Revenue Services, etc.
- Knowledge and experience working with complex computer based business and data systems, data integrity process check and internal controls.
- Superior writing and presentation skills, including the ability to comprehend complex issues and related data/information and present information in concise meaningful ways and in a non-technical and non-financial manner.
- Strong computer and financial business systems skills including demonstrated ability to productively use spreadsheet, word processing, presentation and database applications.
- Customer focused with an ability to facilitate and encourage co-operation among diverse groups and skillsets.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to negotiate and influence others, superior organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines, ability to work under pressure and multi-task without direct supervision, physical ability to perform the duties of the job

Salary
The salary range for this position is CAD $44.15/Hr. - CAD $63.47/Hr.Job Summary

You will be leading the group to implement the journey and guide stakeholders during the transformational journey from our current highly customized HCM on-prem system to a modern cloud-based HCM, such as Workday, as well as to sustain the application going forward.
