Be a passionate voice in the team, evangelizing our design philosophy for playable characters across all disciplines.
Design, prototype, and implement playable characters who are fun, engaging, upgradable, and who align with the core vision of the game.
Work closely with engineers to implement character mechanics while adhering to performance and technical constraints.
Collaborate with game designers, UI, VFX, sound, and engineering teams to ensure characters are balanced, polished, and deliver a great gameplay experience.
Gather feedback from playtests, user data, and cross-functional teams to iterate on characters to balance and improve the player experience.
Participate in the tuning and balancing of gameplay mechanics, ensuring they are fair and enjoyable for players of all skill levels.
Work with our gameplay AI team to design bots that develop different play strategies.
Stay informed on industry trends and player feedback to innovate and improve game modes.
Experience as a Game Designer with focus on 3C, specifically designing and implementing characters (with at least one shipped title).
Strong understanding of game mechanics, skill floor/skill ceiling, player progression, and reward systems.
Proficiency with game development tools and scripting.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
A deep understanding of player motivations and how to design characters that are enjoyable and accessible.
Ability to iterate quickly based on playtesting and feedback.
Experience designing AI characters for live-service games.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and iterative design processes.
Knowledge of user data analysis and metrics-based iteration for iterating and improving gameplay feel and game balancing for a wide range of player skill levels.

We are currently looking for a Senior Gameplay Designer to help craft a new, unannounced game for Blizzard.
We are looking for a well-rounded game designer to join our team and take responsibility for creating engaging gameplay mechanics and systems that enhance the player experience. Our ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of character-based gameplay and be able to design systems that are both accessible and offer strategic depth.
