In this vital role you will will work with our Research and Development (R&D) Digital Technology and Innovation (DTI) group supporting R&D’s Global Regulatory Affairs & Strategy (GRAAS) function in alignment with our business and DTI strategy. As a Senior Generative AI Data Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the company's data infrastructure and architecture, designing and implementing data pipelines, developing data models, performing data integration, and ensuring data quality and governance for GenAI solutions.

      You will be an integral member of a newly formed Agile Product Team that will own Amgen's Structured Content Authoring solution, enabling R&D to redefine common technical document (CTD) authoring and the overall submission processes. You will be collaborating closely with a multi-functional group of stakeholders, data scientists, data engineers, GenAI, and ML engineers to revolutionize the common technical document and overall submission processes.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Work with the Agile Team, Product Owner, Release Train Engineer, and Scrum master to plan and execute work.

      • Work with Connected Data Architects to refine and optimize the technical environment for reuse, agility, and performance.

      • Ensure that the data requirements for applications, data scientists, and cross-functional use cases are met.

      • Ensure that performance and reliability of the solutions are high, and the GenAI contents are demonstrably accurate.

      Basic Qualifications:

      Doctorate degree

      OR

      Master’s degree and 3 years of information systems experience

      Or

      Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of information systems experience

      Or

      Associate’s degree and 10 years of information systems experience

      Or

      High school diploma / GED and 12 years of information systems experience

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • 3+ years of experience in semantic data layers or data lake architectures

      • 3+ years of experience with one or more programming languages, such as Python, Scala, or Java.

      • 5+ Experience architecting and building ELT pipelines; Hands-on experience with SQL

      • Experience with Semantic Layer technologies such as RDF triplestores or graphs

      • Experience with data modeling, performance tuning, and relational and graph databases.

      • Hands-on development experience with Databricks and columnar data

      • Hands-on development experience with templating and transform frameworks, such as XSLT, Jinja, Mustache, or CSS

      • Experience with Software engineering best-practices, including but not limited to version control, CI/CD, and automated testing

      • Experience with AWS services: EC2, S3, EMR, RDS, Redshift/Spectrum, Lambda, Glue, Athena, API gateway, and design patterns (Containers, Serverless, Docker, etc.)

      • Familiarity with Veeva or other Regulatory platforms in BioPharma

      124,933.00 USD - 158,726.00 USD
