- The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $64,500 and $74,500 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.
- Support the completion of the grant writing process, which includes new and renewal submissions.
- Participate in informational sessions for private or government application and report key information.
- Research to identify which funding opportunities are aligned with Metropolitan Family Service programs.
- Review proposal requests to make recommendations and coordinate the development of a competitive application, in partnership with relevant internal stakeholders.
- Research prospects and review request for proposals to make recommendations for submission to Metropolitan decision makers.
- Provide summaries of RFPs and work plans for completion of applications by RFP deadlines.
- Work in collaboration with internal Metropolitan stakeholders to prepare and submit competitive high quality grant applications. Ensure grant application deadlines are met.
- Develop, manage, and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies for private institutional financial support. Identify prospects and conduct research to determine levels of philanthropic affinity and capacity (for Grant Writers who write Private Grants only).
- Work closely with supervisory staff to review and implement solicitation and cultivation strategies.
- Arrange and coordinate cultivation, stewardship, and recognition activities including site visits for sponsors and donors.
- Coordinate (with Metropolitan’s Donor Data Team) the accurate tracking of institutional donations/gift commitments in SalesForce.
- Provide summary reports of grant submissions and track success rate of submissions.
- Supervise contractual staff as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience using relational databases such as Salesforce (for Grant Writers assigned to private grants).
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of grant writing experience required.
- Experience with donor management system preferred.
- A self-starter, able to problem –solve and identify potential solutions preferred.
- Satisfactorily pass all relevant screenings and criminal background checks.
- Driving for work preferred with a personally owned vehicle. Travel between sites required.
- While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal.
