- Lead power systems analysis and grid code compliance activities for the Onshore Power team in Europe.
- Liaise/coordinate with DSO/TSO, EPC contractor, OEMs, certifying body and other external stakeholders during grid code compliance process and prepare/assure the required technical documents.
- Manage external engineering consultants to support power system and grid code compliance studies.
- Monitoring of implemented changes to and potential future developments of European and national technical grid codes (RfG).
- Lead/perform preliminary power systems studies (i.e. load flow, short circuit, stability analysis) to support development phase engineering activities.
- Lead the preparation of internal tools, specifications, and processes for grid code compliance & power systems engineering.
- Manage internal interfaces with engineering, delivery, asset management and power technology teams.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of applicable project engineering, construction and performance issues as well as evaluation of new technologies.
- Experience in performing power system and grid code compliance studies, preferably for Type D generators, using industry standard software (i.e. DigSilent, PSSE, ETAP, PSCAD).
- Experience liaising with DSO/TSOs and good understanding of MV/HV grid connection processes and technical requirements (including RfG) in Europe (i.e. Italy, Spain, UK, Germany).
- Experience working for a DSO/TSO is considered a plus.
- Experience in managing technical consultants.
- Software and programming and skills for studies automation and data analysis (i.e. Python, PowerBI).
- Familiarity with HV infrastructure design, electrical protections, metering and SCADA/PPC systems.
- Familiarity with the development and construction process for renewable power projects.
- Familiarity with project economics, value chain and project development.
- Local network with equipment OEMs, developers, DSO/TSOs, industry bodies, consultants.
- Commercial acumen, to help increase project returns and reduce engineering-related costs.
- Ability to understand the strategic context of work and adapt to changing business and market needs.
- Flexible, pragmatic and open to discuss alternative solutions.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time and being able to work efficiently and productively in remote locations.
- Culturally sensitive and ability to build strong relationships with Shell, partners and stakeholders.

- Strong communication skills, being able to present their idea within technical and non-technical audience.
- Practical. Focus on solving problems and not just asking more questions.
- Fluent in English. Ability to speak other languages is a plus (i.e. Spanish, Italian, German).

Job Description:The Senior Grid Code Compliance Engineer is responsible for power systems analysis and grid code compliance activities in the Onshore Power team in Europe. This person will focus on supporting the European project teams in the successful development and delivery of solar PV, onshore wind and storage projects.

We are keen to hear from individuals with substantial hands-on experience in grid code compliance verification, specifically for renewable power plants in Europe. You must have broad and in-depth technical knowledge of power systems engineering. You’ll also call on your Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
