      We now seek an outstanding candidate to join the South Asia Middle Africa (SAMEA) Growth team and become a major contributor to our subscriber growth efforts in India. This role requires a good understanding of the market and is flawless for marketers who have a strong strategic approach, who are data-driven, understand how to drive user growth and conversion to premium in emerging markets.


      The role is open for candidates based in Mumbai or willing to relocate. The team is part of the bigger Market & Subscriber (M&S) Business Unit, with the mission to bring Spotify to more users across the globe and drive revenue.

      What You'll Do
      • The mission will be to implement and roll out the growth initiatives that will improve our conversion rate in the market. The role reports to the India Growth Associate Director and sits within the SAMEA growth team
      • The primary objective is to drive more subscribers in the region, ensuring gross margin and Lifetime Value (LTV) objectives are met
      • You will take a well-rounded look at subscriber growth to ensure healthy retention and mitigate/control churn events
      • You will look at bettering the premium offering in the market via various product innovation projects and A/B testing
      • You will implement marketing campaigns on owned media channels to drive subscriber growth across the Spotify Premium portfolio and/or engage current free users. You lead this process from brainstorming to planning, briefing, asset creation, asset trafficking throughout owned channels (email, in-app notifications, etc.), campaign analysis, and overall project management
      • You will also look at growing premium awareness and consideration, through paid media campaigns, in collaboration with our consumer marketing team and with alignment with your manager
      • You are responsible for understanding customer, industry, and competitor trends/behaviours in the region (macro, external, internal). Based on that, you will identify growth opportunities
      • Additionally, you will optimize subscriber growth along the whole conversion funnel – from conversion and migration to retention. You work with global internal teams and selected external partners to drive those initiative
      • To work closely with other teams, especially local consumer marketing, artist and label partnerships, and business development. That's how you ensure maximum growth across all the business levers that we have at our disposal
      • You will also work with the wider Freemium team, based across the globe, to address challenges in conversion, payment, engagement, retention, etc
      • You will also work with the Growth Lead of SAMEA regional on specific regional projects


      Who You Are
      • At least a minimum of 5 years of working experience with at least three years of relevant industry experience in an online consumer business (streaming services, e-commerce, online media or a tech start-up)
      • You have worked on digital marketing campaigns and CRM and are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and driving things yourself – whether it's programming an email, pulling some queries or quickly adjusting an image in Photoshop
      • You are very comfortable using various tools to analyze, test, and implement online marketing activities (e.g. Google Analytics, email management/CRM, SQL) and possess the core technical skills needed to get the job done or are otherwise a quick learner (e.g. basic HTML editing, running simple SQL queries, etc.)
      • You are used to working with data scientists, whether it’s about implementing experiments cases and forecasting, or campaign measurement
      • You have a good command of English. Proficiency in any additional languages from the region would be advantageous
      • Good knowledge and insights into the Indian digital consumer market and media landscape
      • Provide feedback on creative and media plans and are also comfortable writing clear briefs
      • Able to think about strategic and creative initiatives to better business metrics
      • Very comfortable working remotely from other team members, but even so, manage to stay in sync and influence internal team members by being an excellent communicator
      • You are also comfortable working closely with your peers based in the Mumbai office and collaborating with them
      • A proven track record of leading and implementing projects independently and getting things done in a cross-functional organization. You will not always have direct control of all the resources, but you still get the job done
