- 4+ w/Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of product management or product strategy with revenue-generating products preferred. Health care, dental, or insurance industry experience required.
- Understanding of medical, dental, and/or vision insurance products
- Understanding of health care market and trends is preferred
- Understanding of traditional and modern product design methodologies, including stage gate, business model canvas/value proposition design, and design thinking
- Able to effectively verbally communicate concepts and information, including live presentations to executives
- Able to effectively communicate concepts and information through email and reports as well as through visual mediums including white board drawings, sketches, process flows, and digital presentations
- Able to work collaboratively and interact well with co-workers of various levels in the organization and with outside contacts
- Leads product planning activities for a product or portfolio of products, including collecting customer feedback, assessing product performance against KPIs, analyzing competitor and market activity, proposing how to improve results, and creating product roadmaps
- For product initiatives of moderate scope, designs new product concept(s) (includes target customers, value proposition, features, member journey, pricing) and collaborates with market research to validate customer interest
- Leads creation of product initiative business cases, including sales forecast, pricing, cost estimates, and success metrics, in collaboration with sales, marketing, actuarial, and finance
- On product initiatives, defines desired customer experience, identifies needed capabilities, creates go-to-market plans, and defines product analytics
- Creates plan materials for insured products for use internally, with partners, and for filing with regulators to obtain approval (for insured products)
- Partners with operations and technology to assess feasibility and identifies solutions to support product initiatives; acts as business sponsor during technical development and operational readiness phases. Supports contracting and management of any external partners.
- Acts as the product champion internally, educating stakeholders, create product FAQ content, and conducting trainings
- Project manages limited scope product initiatives through execution. Collaborates with dedicated project managers for more complex product initiatives
- Mentors less experienced product managers, supervising them on specific projects, and leads creation of new product management processes and tools
The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for managing the full product lifecycle by conducting market research (desk level) and competitive intelligence and interpreting market trends, developing product roadmaps and designing product specifications, managing current product performance, and supporting go-to-market activities such as marketing positioning and pricing for the company's market-facing, revenue generating products. This position may support dental insurance products or other types of products and services.

Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $92,000 - $196,500Responsibilities
