      Job summary

An exciting opportunity has a arisen for a Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support worker within our Emergency Department at Weston General Hospital.

Our Emergency Department (ED) is at the heart of the hospital, delivering rapid and effective care in a fast-paced environment. We are committed to providing high-quality care, improving patient outcomes, and fostering a supportive and professional working environment for our staff.

We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Band 3) to join our busy Emergency Department. In this critical role, you will support our healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality, patient-focused care to individuals attending the ED.

Please note, this role does not currently meet the salary requirement for certificate of sponsorship. From the 9th April 2025, the minimum salary required for a Skilled Worker visa became £25,000 per year. While this role may be offered at a higher point on the pay scale depending on relevant NHS experience, most new starters are appointed at the bottom of the band, which does not meet the new salary threshold.

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
