- Six weeks (30 days) of paid annual leave per year + additional paid Christmas stand down

- Working collaboratively with the People Command, national corporate teams/centres of excellence and/or other CCSUs in delivering timely, consistent and professional HR services for the Command;
- Providing expert advice and support on policies, procedures, applicable legislation, and contemporary HR best practices;
- Coordinating the development, maintenance and implementation of mitigation strategies of Command organisational structures aligned with the Command budget, in collaboration with Finance stakeholders to influence; Command decision-making;
- Coordinating the development and implementation of Command workforce plans including identification of Command workforce challenges and development of mitigation strategies;
- Developing and overseeing Command-specific people related reporting, ensuring the Command's SAP data integrity and use of HR analytics to influence Command decision making;
- Delivery of mobility planning and management of the Command's workforce through the Human Resource Committee including secretariat responsibilities;
- Supporting Command Executive and Supervisors in the development and implementation of a diverse range of workforce strategies and processes including leadership development and succession planning;
- Provide high-level advice, support and guidance to stakeholders in the management of complex performance management matters;
- Planning, coordinating and overseeing the Command's Recruitment Strategy and end-to-end recruitment activities in partnership with the AFP Recruitment Centre of Excellence and alignment with relevant enterprise strategy;
- Driving innovation and continuous corporate service delivery improvements to reduce red tape and better support the frontline;
- Providing expert advice and support to deliver relevant business, strategic and enterprise wide reporting requirements;
- Maintaining contemporary subject matter expertise through ongoing professional development and learning opportunities aligned with the AFP's 70:20:10 Model of Learning to ensure you are able to effectively undertake your duties and are up to date on relevant legislative and policy changes; and
- Effectively building and maintaining capability within the team, while managing the day-to-day performance of team members.
- You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Demonstrated experience in providing effective and high-level consultancy and partnership support to senior management teams in regards to complex HR matters.

What is the role?
Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Senior HR Officer.
We are looking for highly motivated, skilled, and client-focused HR professional to join a high performing HR team in our Western Command, with the role based in Perth Headquarters.
CCSUs are skilled, agile and multi-disciplined teams which provide timely, high-quality and professional corporate services in accordance with their Command's priorities.
Under the broad direction of the CCSU Team Leader HR, the Senior HR Officer role supports broader organisational corporate reform and the delivery of operational HR policy and advice, people analytics and reporting, development and implementation of strategic forward looking HR initiatives, recruitment and the management of complex workforce management issues.
The role is responsible for enhancing partnerships between the Command and national specialist HR teams to deliver consistent, timely and high quality HR services. The Senior HR Officer role is expected to plan, prioritise, delegate and drive HR initiatives to meet the corporate needs of the Command.
You are dynamic and flexible in your approach to day-to-day work, have the ability to prioritise and multi-task, engaging multiple stakeholders and corporate centres of excellence to deliver high-level outcomes to foster a positive reputation and trust in the team.
In addition to HR specialist capabilities and/or relevant qualifications, you will need to demonstrate the ability to thrive in a complex and challenging environment.
You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.
