Job Duties:

• The Senior Information Consultant position serves as the End User Support Services Manager within the Technology Services division at SC DSS. Evaluates incoming work orders and prioritizes the workload of assigned staff. Escalates issues as necessary to senior management. This IT management position reports to the Director of Network Operations and Data Center Services and leads and directs End User Services for the SC Department of Social Services. This position is part of a cohesive team of IT managers and senior technical staff that are jointly responsible for the success of the Agency's network and IT operations. The successful candidate will supervise work groups responsible for the Agency technology services help desk, asset management, device deployments, and Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support and troubleshooting for all end user computer technology.

• Evaluates incoming work orders and prioritizes the workload of assigned staff. Escalates issues as necessary to senior management.

• Responsible for day-to-day efficient operations of end user support services and effective management of the IT staff supporting end-users’ equipment and software by setting work goals and priorities, schedules, and assignments to support Agency projects and sites; ensures technical training development; and works with internal and external stakeholders and partners to ensure services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

• Coordinates with service and cloud services to implement and support user device endpoint management utilizing Microsoft Endpoint/Intune and System Center Configuration Manager. This includes, but is not limited to, device imaging, software distribution, scheduling and deploying security patches for endpoint devices, and implementing security controls in support of device hardening as required by State and Federal policies and guidance.

• Responsible for developing and maintaining end user standards regarding desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and support services provided, and the coordination of the procurement of the necessary equipment and tools to provision the defined Agency standard equipment.

• Implements and manage an accurate accounting of equipment inventory and distribution, to include planning, monitoring, and recording hardware assets to ensure documentation of available inventory, and an accurate accounting of lost, stolen, and destroyed Agency owned IT end user equipment.

• Perform other related duties as required.

A Bachelor's Degree in automated information or communication system design, installation, operation, or repair. Related experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree on a year-for-year basis.
