The Integrated Digital Service works across Leeds City Council and the Integrated Care Board (Leeds) - opening up a number of exciting prospects to work within the health and care sector and local authority.The Integrated Digital Service is improving how services are delivered, using user research to inform technology solutions that are accessible, easy to use and reliable. We are innovating and changing services by investing in automation through technologies such as power platform and RPA. If the answer is yes, then look no further than the Information Management & Governance team where we have an opportunity to fulfil the role of a Senior Information Governance Officer.
We are looking for a highly capable individual to work predominantly within our Information Initiatives and Records workstream. The role requires a good working knowledge of information management and compliance practices and legislation, e.g. UK Data Protection Act 2018 and Freedom of Information Act 2000, together with a working knowledge of records management principles and implementing these in an organisation.Experience of working on projects to implement information management and records management practices within an organisation is desirable. Knowledge or experience of M365 information compliance capability would be advantageous.
The Role
The key responsibilities are, but not limited to:
Working on large scale organisation wide information management projects.
Working on projects to develop and increase efficiencies within Information Management and Governance.
Implementation of an information management framework, policies and procedures across the organisation and embedding these across the organisation.
Implementing M365 information management capabilities across the organisations Microsoft tenancy.
Designing how compliance against the information management policies and procedures is monitored and audited across the organisation.
Development of Leeds City Council’s Information Asset Register and Retention Schedule.
Potential support required in the other Information Management and Governance workstreams, including, but not limited to, processing information requests; advising on data protection information assessments; information sharing; privacy notices and records management practices
About you
Practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role.
Knowledge of information compliance and management principles.
Experience of managing staff to deliver service priorities.
