Job Description
- Req#: 15416
- Support the Head of UK IT Services and the UK Shared Services function in the delivery of IT Infrastructure services to QinetiQ across physical, virtual and cloud based technologies.
- Act as Technical Service Owner for systems/services within your remit ensuring obsolescence is reviewed and support the development of suitable roadmaps. This includes the development and maintenance of Standards in respect of virtual and physical Infrastructure and Storage Services.
- Act as a source of technical knowledge and expertise for other areas of IT Services mentoring others as appropriate
- Support successful transition of new technologies/solutions into service.
- Where necessary work with IT architecture teams to development and deliver IT solutions to the highest professional standards aligned to both IT and business requirements.
- Extensive experience of working within an enterprise level IT environment
- Extensive knowledge of VMWare ESXi/vSphere solution design, implementation and support up to the latest stable release
- Experience in deploying and administering VMware NSX-T SDN
- Experience in VMWare vSAN, deployment, administration and configuration
- Experience with VMware Horizon and/or other VDI solutions
- Experience in enterprise level backup technologies

The role
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary, You will join the UK Shared Services team. In this role you will provide support and subject matter expertise to the IT Services function. Delivering planned or requested activities which will depend on the requirements of the individual task in order to effectively deliver high quality services to our customers.
