Our work depends on a Senior Java Developer joining our team who is responsible to analyze design, develop, implement, and support code, working under limited supervision. Successful candidates must have a strong understanding of DOD cloud governance and cloud application services for DOD customers.

      How the Senior Software Developer Will Make an Impact:

      This role will directly support our customer at the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM). USTRANSCOM provides global transportation and logistics needs to the US military, defense agencies, and other Government organizations. This contract is an umbrella program that integrates and governs end-to-end distribution process optimization initiatives including continuous business process improvement, process visualization and dynamic transportation decision making.

      Solutions and capabilities will be continuously developed, and it is each Software Developer’s responsibility to ensure the releases meet the functionality and validity of its design. The Senior Java Developer will work with the responsible Government authority to ensure each solution meets their user requirements and that each build is of high quality and delivered on schedule.

      Basic Desired Qualifications:

      The key responsibility would be to perform and provide guidance on all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, development, and testing. Additional duties include:

      • Researches, designs, develops, tests, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.

      • Performs all phases of the software development lifecycle.

      • Analyzes user/business needs and functionality to plan and design software systems to meet those needs.

      • Creates a variety of models and diagrams that show programmers the software code needed for an application.

      • Performs software updates, refinement, testing, and debugging to meet business needs.

      • Provides analysis for reports on software project specifications, activities, or status.

      • Thoroughly documents the software or system for future maintenance and updates.

      • May coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals.

      • May serve as a team or task lead.

      What you’ll need to succeed:

      • Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering or any related field/major

      • Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience.

      • Security Clearance Level: DOD Active Secret Clearance required.

      • Certifications: CompTIA IAT II (Sec + or equivalent)

      • US Citizenship required

      Required Skills and Abilities:

      • Expertise in developing, maintaining, and contributing to technical and process documentation.

      • Expertise in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, JSP, J2ee, JavaScript, SQL, Eclipse, Subversion or GitHub

      • Expertise in full stack application development including front and back-end services.

      • Expertise in Agile and DevSecOps processes

      • Expertise in VMWare and AWS services

      • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, growth-focused environment.

      Preferred Skills:

      • Agile development process methodology experience.

      • Deep understanding of Software Development Life Cycle management (Agile/SCRUM methodology)

      The likely salary range for this position is $88,000 - $132,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
