      In Liquidity domain we are working every day to help our corporate clients run their business more smoothly. The clients that will be using and/or benefiting from results of your work as well-known multinational corporates (many of which you know and use their products). The products we provide to clients are sight deposits, overdrafts, intraday credit-facilities, term deposits and off-balance sheet investments. Those products help clients to make payments to their employees, suppliers, and achieve their cash management goals.

      Agency Securities Lending (ASL) is a significant growth area for Deutsche Bank, enabling our client investment funds to earn additional yield on their investments by lending their securities out in the market. ASL has also launched an innovative new product enabling our clients holding high cash balances to earn extra yield by investing their cash balances in short-term instruments.

      The ASL business runs on a single legacy front-to-back trading system which is being re-engineered into a modern cloud-native microservices architecture over the next 2 years. ASL Technology is currently a global team of 25 across Cary, Berlin, and Spain with a center of gravity in Cary. This team is being doubled in size to deliver the technology re-engineering program.

      As a Senior L3 SRE Engineer you will be a key player in stabilizing the existing legacy platform by performing Level 3 support of complex issues as well as sustainable code fixes to prevent these issues from re-occurring. This is an Individual Contributor role, and you will be responsible and accountable for problem analysis, designing and coding long-term solutions to complex legacy issues, and releasing the fixes into production.

      Your key responsibilities

      • Partner with traders, operations and stakeholders situated in multiple regions and time-zones to understand their production problems and manual toil requiring automation.

      • Structured problem analysis leading to finding immediate fixes as well as long-term solutions that will prevent the same problem from re-occurring.

      • Design and code long-term solutions and deliver them into production within an agile delivery model.

      • Collaborate with engineers to participate and contribute to technical discussions, architecture decisions and specifications.

      Your skills and experiences

      • Multi-year experience in development or SRE

      • Expertise in Java, Spring-boot, Oracle

      • Expertise in PL/SQL and Unix shell scripting to understand legacy code and writing complex SQL queries tuned for performance

      • Experience with modern SDLC toolstack (Bitbucket, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins/TeamCity, etc.) and observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)

      • Knowledge in container runtime environments (Docker, Kubernetes, Open Shift)

      • Good written and spoken English
